I've been using the MFC-101( -> Axe Fx II) by programming sets on it. I'm now using my tablet to display songs. OK, it was definitely data related. There must have been something in the file that was hosed. I was able to receive a file (saved according to my naming convention and over writing my previous) made some modifications and was able to send it successfully.

I would like to re-organize my song list and get it grouped/alphabetized. With all the red + cautions in the manual I figured it would be best to double check first. The way I'm reading it, it is saying that doing anything to re-organize the Songs will invalidate the Sets page. And I'm fine...

I would agree with a lot of observations made here. I don't think it's dead as much as just not being the main focal point of a band/song anymore. How about a conclusive 'Plug This There' guide for MFC-Edit please?

Just seems to be the paradigm. I don't think a holistic workflow was a priority. You either use the MFC to control the Axe -or- you edit with Mfc-Edit and they are completely separate events with a different setup & connections.
  49. DTownSMR

running into a problem doing an intial load

You can (but as Gary already cautioned...do NOT also have the power on via the wall wart transformer). However, I could NOT get consistent loads that way. FCB1010 Expression pedal doesn't start at the heel...

As I understand it, it's a design "feature" of the firmware. It needs to travel a certain amount (like 8 or 10 I seem to recall) before it starts to send any data. FCB1010 Uno chipped for Axe FX XL

Yes, a 5-pin MIDI cable works fine. (that's what I have used in that configuration) There could be a reason to get another cable. If you're phantom powering the FCB AND you want the power to go thru the Axe you'll need a different cable. 7-pin/5-pin. But I avoided that and added the power...

I think that's the nature of the beast with MIDI communication. It's a blast-it-down-the-pipe and hope it gets there. AFAIK there's no facility to acknowledge the receipt of a transmission by the receiver. Therefore, the utilities just have to blindly assumes that what it sends is received...

It is the darndest thing. The LED stays lit to the status of the GEQ4 block per scene. If I have it enabled in one scene, switching to that scene has the LED on and the block engaged.
