You’re describing switch bounce. It’s a known thing that some switches do. Some are more prone to it than others. There are ways to debounce a switch electronically, and there may already be some debouncing built into the switch inputs on the FC. You can also minimize bounce by stomping the...

That helps me understand. While I don’t have enough information to make that call, I’ve noticed that some SICs have multiple peaks and valleys that aren’t accounted for by the available parameters, and some don’t. That would suggest that there’s something additional going on.

OMG 9 without FC-6: How to use the 3 switches by themselves

You’re right. This is for people who have the FM3 only. What @Patzag was saying is that both this and OMG9 are made so they can live together in the same machine. That makes it so people who do have an FC can be ready for times when they have an FC connected and times when they don’t.

    Dialing in “your” unique sound?

Fractal gear doesn’t model “sounds.” It models amplifiers. If your favorite Indie players used amps to get their tone, then you can use Fractal amp models to dial in those sounds. And dynamics? If you set your gain right, Fractal gear can swoop and soar as well as the best “real” amp.

No. Well, yes, you can use a Humbuster cable for that if the actual jacks are atlas, but you won’t get any humbusting effect from it. For that to work, you need an Output jack that has Humbuster circuitry built in. Your guitar doesn’t have that.

    FM9 middle 'feet'

    Understood.
  61. Rex

    EV1 or EV2?

But... they’re the same throw. Your foot goes through the same angular sweep on both the EV-1 and the EV-2. Though you may feel more in control when both your toes and your heel make contact with the EV-1’s longer pedal. And if your shoe is stiff enough, even that doesn’t matter.
  62. Rex

    FM9 middle 'feet'

The more feet you have, the trickier it can be to get the box to lie flat. It could be that those feet are there to prevent a catastrophe in case an enormous force or impact hits the box.

dumb question - any "fix" for the loud pop you get when powering on/off?

At home I use Humbusters with zero thump on power up or down. At gigs, I use XLR also with no thump. Maybe it has to do with the state of the ground lift switch.
