(SOLVED) Feedback Send/Return FW21.01

I worked it out. I had phase invert enabled on the delay (2290 style) and it was cancelling itself out in the feedback when it got back to the delay since it wasn't stereo which negated any feedback at all..

Not sure if this recently broke with 21.01 or earlier, but I noticed my patches where I send a signal back using the feedback send/return seem broken (the feedback blocks). Would anyone mind cooking a simple patch with feedback through a phaser or pitch block then back into the delay and verify...

Plus Distortion Broken? FW19.05

I hadn't really played with that distortion model and my unit is in a rack in the closet (I selected it via AxeEdit). It does sound normal cranking the volume but it startled me at first as I went from a Rat to the Plus at default volume and thought the unit stopped working!

Mute Output 1/2 while listening to headphones?

Something I couldn't get out of the 2XL+, I'd like to mute the output to the near fields (without having to power them off...) to record acoustic guitar. Naturally I'd like to listen to the playback through headphones. Is this routing option available in the III?

NO INPUT CLOCK!

Something I noticed, if you select AES in as your word clock, and if it happens to switch to 44.1k it will hose the tuner up.

Is there a workaround to 1000ms limit on modifier damp parameter?

Maybe run it into a delay or looper? Might not be a smooth as an adsr control but you might be able to get the sustain effect at the end of Eruption before it fades. Set feedback to achieve fade time.

Cab-Lab 3 Live Mode Buffer Issues

I have issues as well. Whether it's as a VST plugin or standalone, below 512 samples I get unplayable crackle. I'm using two Motu HD192's (PCIe) on a Octacore i7-5960X with 32GB of RAM, so I don't buy the CPU thing. It also brings Sonar to crackle and pops when I have the plugin on a couple...

I really thought Q5 was a significant upgrade. More than I've felt we've had in a long time. I really heard and felt the difference in my Marshall presets. There's an obvious non-linear decay thing going on behind/between/somewhere in the tone that has me thinking Cliff's nailed the final 1%.

I tried this for a little while, but AxeFX sounds better than any plugin I had for effects and is waaaay more flexible with its controllers and matrix, even with a real amp and Suhr load. I still occasionally use my real amp, but after I tone matched it (just the amp not with the speaker) it...

I do this exact thing in my home studio. Amp->Suhr Load->AxeFX->computer. It works great. Watch your levels though. I would add that after I tone matched my amp through the load I couldn't hear difference anymore but the real amp feels a little different but it's minuscule.

It's been an interesting run

I used to think the same thing about my plexi, where the axe ii just didn't quite feel or sound right. Then I tone matched my plexi using a suhr reactive load. Now I can't hear or feel the difference. And no it's not 45 year old ears or fingers...

Confused about what amp to use for the mk1 boogie

Boogie Mark 1 is basically a Princeton with an extra gain stage in front. Try the Prince Tone model with a Tube Pre model in front (turn tube pre PA off). Turn gain all the way up in tube pre and boost output a bit. Should be pretty close.

Axe FX 2 MK 2 " Input Z " Settings .... some advice needed please ....

Leave it on "Auto". The AxeFX will choose the appropriate input impedance for the effect or amp you have chosen. Most amps are 1M if you are curious. Some vintage stomp boxes were much less.

Cliff - Slope resistor?

I'd think pretty close. My assumption is the tone stack setting selects the slope resistor not default treble cap. The slope resistor sets the width of the EQ scoop and the treble cap sets the center freq. Using this argument, setting a 100w plexi model with a jtm45 tone stack creats a 56k...

I got the iron from heyboer. They'll wind to your your specs. Primary is around 3.5k. It's not at bedroom level, the HTC one phone has some HDR audio thing that makes low volume tv sound louder. It was about the threshold of annoy the wife volume. I may tweak again to lower the gain on...

AXE FX Recto Red vs real MESA Roadster

I thought the Axe sounded better too. The Roadster clip had a midrange honk thing going on that doesn't work for me. I didn't dislike it though. You might get closer to the Roadster by playing with the tone frequency center. Maybe 650 or higher.

Probably version 10.5 with some effects tweaks, maybe some drive pedals. My guess is cliff is wiped out from the v10 effort and may be at a point of negative return on amp tweaks.

Esoteric RCB and ACB Swapped?

I thought the RCB was supposed to be the "Real Clean" Boost vis "Almost Clean", it appears in the model that RCB has more gain and distortion than ACB. Are these swapped by chance?

V7 vs. V8x Phase Inverter - what do you hear?

V7.0 gives a little, is warmer and slightly easier to play on the clean to mild overdrive tones. V8 is more open and alive, but fights you a little on the mild overdrive tones.

+1 I think Axe Edit might be hosing the presence multiplier too. I wonder if that was causing my impression of the 'amp fighting me' feeling. You need to check the multiplier on the AxeFX.

It doesn't not. Plexi mode bypasses the 2nd and 3rd (in red channel) gain stages duplicating gain structure of a superlead. Plexi, Blue and Red all use the same tone stack and this is not modified with any switch position. Unless Cliff's model has a bypass cap on the CF stage of the plexi...

Been struggling here with the lower gain stuff since 8.0. The higher gain tones are good, but my beloved 50W plexi patch which had lots of give, bloom and farted in all the right places in v7.0 is as stiff as a kick in the nuts with 8.0. I've rebuilt the patch from scratch and reset...

EQ TIPS TO MAKE MY STRAT SOUND MORE VINTAGE.

A parametric EQ *before* the amp does amazing things too. Just pick a single frequency, bump it to +6db and sweep it up from 200hz to 4000hz and back to find what your in to. Then dial the gain back a few dB. Won't make you noiseless sound vintage, but it does amazing things nonetheless.

I've built several amps with a bax stack and always found them too touchy for the effort. Way too sensitive and overall too difficult to dial in (selecting cap, pot and resistor values). When I did find a good center frequency, you could only turn the knobs 1/4 in any direction before it...
