4 cable method FM9 turbo questions

Correct, the humx only allowed me to run the FM9 in the loop of the power station. Any device with a ground lug on the power chord appear to have this issue with the power station. And select ground lift had no effect. My HX stomp doesn't have a ground lug and I did not need the humx, however I...

4 cable method FM9 turbo questions

Correction, I was actually able to getting a working and acceptable "4 CM" solution to work with the Power Station and FM9, but I had to introduce an additional reactive load. I used a Suhr Reactive load cause it's what I had, but a Fractal LB-2 would work just as well. Basically the...

4 cable method FM9 turbo questions

Yeah, the humx for me resolved putting stuff in the loop of the power station, however I could never get 4cm to work will with the Power Station. Regardless of how many "ground loop defeating" trix I tried. And it did not matter what device I use. Fractal, Line 6, same weird grounding issue...

Amp Block, Dynamics Tab. If you don't like the feel of the model, go here!

Good information. When comparing the feel to your real amps, are you comparing them with the amp master volume at the same level? When I initially compared the Fractal JCM 800 to my amp, I also thought it was way more compressed and gainy then mine. I then noticed the master on the fractal...

    FM9 Firmware Version 6.00 public beta (1)

I rarely comment on these updates, but this one is freaking incredible. Just wow. The gapless channel switching by itself would have been worthy of an update. Played with the gapless switching for a bit this morning and you guys nailed it!

4 cable method FM9 turbo questions

^^^^^^^ I agree regarding the metro loop! I have installed 3 of them to date and they seem superior to anything else I have played. I use the FM9 often in 4CM with two amps. I have used it with a Mesa Mark V, and a KLD JCM25 (jcm 800 25 watt clone that I installed a metro loop on). Got great...

FM9: FRFR in front or behind you

I have always had it in front of me for gigs as to not mess with the FOH mix. Not sure if it really would or not, just the way I do it. For practice I have had it behind me, but now we just go all PA anyway so my FRFR is one of the band monitors and it is in front of me.

I may be wrong, but this seems like low hanging fruit! Especially given the similar functionality on the midi input.

    How to activate looper

I would recommend checking out the record threshold and loop quantize features. I use these live at shows for a couple songs. It does require the drummer to be listening to a click track, but it really makes creating a loop that keeps correct time easy.

I own an 84 JCM 800 2204 (not the one pictured in my avatar which is actually an 89) that sounds slightly different then the Brit 800 in the FM9. Not stop, bypass. So while you can't hear it, it is still playing in the background. I'm not aware of a way you can attach a modifier to the actual stop function itself, but bypass most certainly. Band I'm in does mostly U2, and one song we play is Magnificent. For that song I have scene 1...

Keep in mind control switch modifiers are also great for the looper depending on what you are doing. FM9 for Just Effects

FM9 is great as an effects only unit. I have used it with an AC15 and AC30 at band practice and it sounds killer, both times all into the front. Virtual Capo: FM9 or FM3 and detuned guitar

I no longer own the drop or the FM3 so I can't side by side them. On tone I would give the drop the nod. It was very consistent. One thing to also keep in mind. With the Mysterious ways patch, I have a mixer setup so that you have clean tone mixed in with the wah.
