Midi Interface Problem

I'm connecting my Axe-Fx (with 9.03 installed) to a Mac running OSX 10.5.8 using a USB MIDI interface. When starting the Axe-Edit software (latest download), it gives the message 'Hardware Busy(?)' Does anyone have any idea why this is and how to resolve it?
