How to improve my sound / artificial sound?

You might want to try the Fender FR-10 or 12. I got the 12 and it’s probably closest to amp in the room than other FRFR solutions I’ve tried. There’s a couple of threads on the forum about them if you want to check them out.

The 250 Greatest Guitarists of All Time (again)

A "Greatest" list is nothing more than a "Favorite" list since music is subjective at best. Considering Rolling Stone has influence on who gets in the rock&roll hall of fame,and never gave Zeppelin one good album review their opinion has never held any water to me.

Pantera Tour

There is no Pantera without Dime and Vinnie. They should have called it a tribute and had multiple musicians sitting in and playing. kind of like the experience Hendrix thing. Calling it a reunion rubs me the wrong way and comes off as a cash grab for Phil and Rex.

IR's via my AX8

If your going to use IRs then FRFR would be preferable. running IRs through a regular amp or cab could color your sound greatly. You could put a fx loop block parallel in the path right before the cab block then you could use output 1 for FOH or FRFR and use output 2 for regular cab or amp.

Is the Axe-Fx 2 still good? My attempt to dial killer tones.

RIP to a great musical artist..when I listened to Prince I could hear a little James Brown..a little Curtis Mayfield..a little Hendrix and a whole lot of mojo that was all his own..who was just as great an entertainer as he was a musician and composer..his talent and his mojo will surely be missed.

Derek Trucks/Slide Presets sounds anywhere ?

^^ This...IIRC his amp of choice is a 4x10 65 super reverb although he does play PRS amps when he jams with the Allman bros.

Block Errors from misplaced blocks

if you go into your axe edit folder you will find your block folder.Should be a log file at the bottom.When you open it up it will tell you what blocks device id doesn't match.

Yamaha HS8 monitors or Orange PPC212 with Axe Fx II XL?

I have the hs8 and I play my axe through them all the time but I also play through amp and cab for gigs...if your not a gigging musician and just want to record or jam at home the hs8 are great for that.

Press edit on the GCP. Press bank down. You should see to the right ctl007. Press + to assign to 9. Then save. Then assign IA 9 to your volume or wah as you want. I had the same problem when I first got the gcp and ultra..hope this helps

yes the Dunlop will work..ive been using a ernie ball volume pedal with my axe fx for years ...the difference is a volume pedal has a log taper and not linear ...but either way it will work

What firmware does it have now? The last firmware update the ultra had was firmware 11 and that was years ago..also you need an older version of axe edit for it to work on computer ....I believe it's under legacy Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Pole Position Guitar

I don't like it for the fact you have to slide your hand with the pickup. What if you want the pickup in the tradional neck position but want to pick in between the pickup and bridge? Not even adding the fact that the closer you pick toward the neck or bridge is gonna slightly change your tone...

I seen him a few years back on the experience Hendrix tour. They came out and did crosstown traffic. I was excited to hear what an axe fx would sound like through a big p.a. to say the least it wasn't that good and his solo sounded a lot like the one off of cult of personality... the best clean...

floorboard would make most sense imho.even though there is other name brand floor units i dont think they could compete in hardware or audio quality.stompboxes wouldnt make sense considering tc electronic and eventide are putting out high quality effect pedals.as far as software im not sure i...
