Well, I can run the editor with fw25/connect -- but that doesn't mean the editor is 100% compatible yet. So beware and let's all hear from Fractal Audio directly before you try to do anything with the last editor and new fw25.0. It may be that it is okay - but I never assume!

Best presets to buy for FM9?

There will be a minor update for 2024 later this spring, but no Dynacabs. You can always use those yourself. The 2024 +PlusPack bank #2 I did has the new the new 2023 added models for both LiveGold and Naked amps and some of those use DynaCabs….

That Dumble is actually an Ampeg SVT with various mods such as tonestack (Skyline) placement and EQ. Cliff has a schematic sent to him years ago. He just needs a real one to do the model - and a desire to do so.

General question

IMHO, Most amp models need to be adjust from their default/amp reset settings. There are some exceptions. Some of the Splawns for example sound great with everything at 5. Many FAS model amps are perfect at 5. But generally you should tweak for your ear, guitar, and playback system.

That input sensitivity has nothing to do with output volume really. See the Axe-FX III wikipedia but it has to do with optimizing the A/D convertors. There is a chance that if Cliff changed some things in an amp model since February 2023 (last LiveGold update) then the volume may have shifted...

I have used the +PlusPack bank 1 cleans (Fenders mainly) with my Les Paul copy GoldTop with Lollar P90s just as they are — and love them! Use the Tele scenes IMHO.

I find the Plexi models all quite dark. Explanation inside. Any help?

A really good starting place on most Plexi's (not necessarily modern amps) is Gain at 6, Bass at 5-6, Middle at 8, and Treble at 6 and presence at 6. The Tone controls really don't do much drastically on a Plexi. If you really wanna get there, try the JMP-1 Bass shift OD1 or OD2 with that 4...

We emailed. For some windows users the standard unzip does not work fully - but another type like a RAR type unzip utility does the trick. I zip my files using WinZip on a Mac.

They are mostly set for clean but just add an amp boost CS2 (in presets) or pedal clean boost and the “break up factor” edges up!

Yes you can, with no issues. It does not use DynaCabs. None of the amps in it have been affected (changed requiring a reset) since it was released by new firmware. Later, I will get a free 2024 update out for it in the middle of spring, it won’t take long.
