Pick attack reduction?

Dunlop Stubby picks would reduce your pick attack considerably since they're thicker, and angled to the point. Might just give you what you're looking for without having to mess with too many other settings. They work really well for that style of playing.

Just a note for those using Windows Defender.

Yeah, it works perfectly. No different from the Axe II driver. I haven't recorded with it yet, but I did just open my recording software and I was able to select it as the recording and playback device.

When I went to install the Axe III USB driver, it wouldn't install correctly in Windows 10. I had to disable Windows Defender temporarily to install it, and after that it was fine. I think someone else had the same issue with BitDefender antivirus. Just disable it during the driver install...

That's funny. I'm exactly the opposite. I can zip through the front panel like it's nothing. I only really use Axe-Edit for trying out new presets, exporting presets, etc... Everyone's got their own way of doing things. :)

As far as I know, Quantum 4 had nothing to do with the cab sims. I don't even know why that was mentioned. The only major improvements to the cab sims themselves has been the advent of ultra res.

You're not hearing a difference because 4.0 doesn't automatically update the modeling version in the presets to the latest modeling version. If you want to hear what 4.0 sounds like, you need to go to the advanced page in the amp block and set the modeling version on the amp to "Latest". You...

Spongy sound with bass amp models

Or use a null filter block after the amp instead of a cab block and set it to roll off the lows between 60-75Hz (to taste) and the highs anywhere you like below 6.5KHz (to taste). The low end roll off will tighten up the bottom end for you.

Am I the only one who doesn't use Axe Edit?

Think I know why you didn't hear it. Did you try it with guitar? I'm only hearing it on the E and A strings on guitar. Anything above that doesn't have that noise to any noticeable degree, if at all. The preset I posted is a bass preset, and it's audible on all the bass strings. I just...

Sure thing. Just turn on the Wah block, play a note and let it cycle and you can hear the noise over top of the actual effect. You can switch to a scene that uses it with other effects as well, like scene 8, but even if it's just the Wah block that's enabled, you can still hear it. I've...
