Amps that have surprised & impressed you in V10

It would be nice if Cliff modeled its other modes, in the future, since these preamps are no longer made :twisted I don´t know what happened, but the Brit Pre sounded thin before, and with FW10 it roars with that signature Marshall mid-rangey crunch! The new IRs are mind-blowing, they sit...

    AC Power Frequency

Last Saturday when I had tested the new Plexi 100W High model, I alternated between AC/DC, and the difference was immense IMO. The DC setting yielded tones more reminiscent of fw 9, brighter... Amps that have surprised & impressed you in V10

Adequate Power Amp for a Passive Atomic CLR

@LVC Which volume do you run your GT1000FX and Axe´s output at? And, how would you compare the headroom of the active CLR vs. GT1000FX/Q12? @bahrecords I´m afraid that´s not an option, as I live down in South America; when the CLR gets past customs office, the trial period will be long...

"Best" clean Fender (or similar) tones

Cool, will try that - I tried to get Machine Head tones from the AC30 model, using even Treble booster, or Santiago's Echoplex IR before the amp, but wasn't even getting remotely in the ballpark. IIRC Cliff said we'd be able to choose KT88s for the power amp, in the advanced settings, in FW10.

"Best" clean Fender (or similar) tones

The Tape Drive is a bit more compressed than the FET Boost, and I feel it gives a fuller character, I usually set it its lo-cut from 150Hz-250Hz; try the clipping settings, Silicon/HV tube sound nice. Actually, I like to leave the Tape Drive on, and have the PEQ after it, so that I have an...

"Best" clean Fender (or similar) tones

Greg, if you just want a bit more hair, you could use the Tape Drive, set its drive to 6 and level at 6-7, adjust lo/hi-cut to taste. Same with the FET Boost. Now, maybe the best thing you can do is to try putting a PEQ before the amp, using something simple like +3dB @ 700-800Hz, Q~0.707...

How many of you EQ before Amp?

I use this trick before the Jubillee and the JCM800... But I´m not sure how this translates to the II I have. In the Axe II, the Scale goes from 0.100 to 10.00, and Offset goes from -100 to +100%. Setting the Offset to -76% is what removed the flub from my Jubillee patch. That said, I don´t...
