Using Fractal as DAW input vs Scarlett?

I would also add that using an external USB interface means you can switch the AFX OFF when you're doing other audio work, ie: not recording guitar = no fan noise ( the AFX's only shortcoming IMHO) !

To add an audio interface or not...

The interface on the Axe is excellent... However, it comes with a downside - fan noise! For that reason I would advise on an additional interface (focusrite is great imo) - if you are going to be recording things other than guitars, and can't locate the axe far enough from your monitoring...

:) Just played for about an hour with Rat dist + Brit 800 + Basketweave 4x12 - basically was my rig for 5 years from about 1987! ( so it would be fair to say I'm familiar with how the real thing sounds / behaves ) This thing is uncannily accurate. What a truly outstanding product.

Just to update from my original post, I picked up a couple of packets of the EVH branded strings today and slapped them on the EVH striped guitar... They actually have quite an odd feel and appearance about them - as if they were not brand new - or more accurately: as if you'd lent your guitar...

Hi, I bought an EVH Striped last month that I absolutely loved.... the honeymoon ended when I came to change the strings. I have been using Ernie Ball 009 - 042 for the past 25 years (!!) and never really given string choice much thought but these new strings changed the sound of this guitar...

Very close.... but I think you need to reign in the reverb ever so slightly and bring out the echo delay - ( almost like a call and response type of delay effect - I can't hear it on your clip but is very noticeable during the first 10 seconds of the actual song.) You've done the hard part...

Experience with Sonos for home audio?

+1 for Sonos. I'm an AV installer/integrator and for the money there's very little that can touch Sonos all things considered.. Sonos+Spotify=100% awesome!
