Amps that clean up well

IMHO 18.04 has changed the tonal landscape in this regard, and it's driving me nuts. I used to have just a hand full of go-to amps that would do the job of going from clean to nasty and now just about every amp I try works great. It's probably going to take me months (because I keep getting...

Dumb question, is there any difference if you run in stereo mode vs mono mode? The block wiring diagram on the Music Man site shows both neck and bridge pickups running to pickup switch then to tone control then to the mag volume & active preamp block then to the mode switch mixed with the...

I'm good with however long it takes because I'm still in discovery mode. Finding new favorites and having orgasmic moments with my old favorites. All I can say is damn! this G3 stuff is great! And to think there's more Fractal goodness coming. My only regret is that I was born 40 years too...

Semi Broken Up Brit 800 G3 FW18 Mark Day

Great playing and tone as usual Mark! Interesting, I was just messing with this song on the weekend, trying different amps to get that tone, using my Melancon (ssh). Never thought to try the Brit 800 with a humbucker guitar. Guess I'll be trying that tonight. Thanks!

Custom Telecaster - where to get

I have Tom Anderson and Melancon (both tele style) and both are excellent. The Melancon is three pickup style (H-S-H) and has a LR Baggs power bridge so it's very versatile. The Tom Anderson is dual humbuckers with coil split. Again a great variety of tones available.

I have a Melancon with a soft V profile and I love it. In fact I love it so much I had a custom guitar built and I had the luthier build the neck to match the profile of the Melancon.

Retro Channel VS matrix Gt1000fx, anyone tried a comparison?

I also own a Retro Channel amp, one of the first off the assembly line, and i 100% agree with all of the above. This amp will be plenty loud enough but it's the versatility that is, in my opinion. the most valuable feature. You're going to love it!

I just had this same problem. Upgraded to V13 without problem but downloaded V13.01 and after installation my unit is frozen (blank screen all lights on). Never had a problem before. Tried rebooting holding recall button but that didn't work. Guess I'll have to contact support.

Any one else a little disappointed with the new FW/patches?

I'm a vintage/clean kind of guy and I've never been happier with the tones I'm getting with the stock patches, especially the Princeton patch. Took that and added an Ownhammer cab and I''m in tonal heaven. Oh, and the Friedman's. Oh my!

Some of my v.10.x Presets

Gave them all a quick try, I don't have a controller connected right now but didn't have any problems with them. Played with my custom guitar with Lollar El Rayos, liked the Bandmaster and Bogner the best. Will do some tweaking on these when I have more time. Thanks!

FW10: LMAO.... What to say?

Suggest you check out the Retro Channel power amp at Retro Channel - Vintage Roots Modern Classics. It's a solid state amp that is rated 100W per side (similar to 100W tube power). I own one and can attest that it can get very loud. It also has additional controls that most other power amps...

Behringer FCB1010 Cabling Connection

Thanks everyone for the info. My unit does have the Uno upgrade but presume that I'm still okay with one midi cable as recommended.

Behringer FCB1010 Cabling Connection

I know this is probably a dumbass question but I'm really confused about what cabling I need to connect the controller to the Axe, is it midi to midi or midi to USB? Is there any recommendations regarding a certain cable type? This old guy would really appreciate some help. Thanks.

What Power Amps are everyone using?

Retrochannel here. It's loud, smooth and versatile. It also looks really cool. Love it!
