    ive seen frost heave in footings, not in a reinforced floating slab. i was a brickie/builder for 40+ years, done hundreds of extensions. no cracking either if you have expansion joints on the perimeter or every 3M if slab is large.

    well in the UK...6" of compact hardcore.....a mesh and 4-6" slab wont move or settle in your lifetime. if internal, run a flexcell or similar expansion around the perimeter. it generates heat as it goes off so if its warm out, give it a little spray with water as it sets.

    i agree 100% mate, and no, i dont have to own a FM3 to make that decision. the only sensible update i see is the Axe 3, alas i didnt have enough money for that so had to go for a 2nd hand Axe2 xl+. if the Ax8 has enough 'oomph' for you that stay as you are!

    I had the cheapo usb<>midi and with the right driver, worked perfect. I then tried a Chinese 4x4 as I needed to hook up my FCB1010 and axe edit, this was a real headache as it connected on a hit or miss basis. I now use a maudio 2x2 midisport and this has never failed me. oh, im on win 7...
