Tbf, I do read through the notes. I've been a Fractal user since 2009 before most people had ever heard of Fractal Audio and always tend to read the notes must of just missed this one.

Does anyone know how to delete a 'preset' in the Amp blocks Output EQ section? I don't even know how this preset got there but...it's there and it's messing with my OCD. So in the list on '3 band octave, 3 band passive, 4 band passive' etc etc....there's something on the list that shouldn't be...

Neal Schon. Cooper Carter has a great vid on YouTube showing Neal jamming on a live show. This was the video that probably made me pull the trigger. I'm also using the same amp sim/preset as Neal is in that video and it is amazing.

Has anyone 'scuffed' or 'marked' their AX8?

Just wondering if anyone has and if so, how do you feel about it? I have a couple of minor scuffs which can only be expected as I gig with my AX8 and it always pisses me off when I see one. Just the kind of guy I am :eek: I'm talking scratches, dents, marks, scuffs, scrapes....

Yeah I was confused with this too because I tried to set F3 as a sticky preset but it seems I can't. Not sure why. It's much easier to hit F3 than F1.

Carrying case?

Nope, its the SC2111. This one still bulges a little to get it closed, but I'm experimenting taking out the egg foam and so far that seems to be working out. But even when it's in, it's not THAT bad and it'll keep the AX8 and EV-1 nice and secure.

Axe-FX Ultra Input Problem

Wow this problem has really scared me. I'm currently using my Ultra in a semi professional band and i have NO backup! Silly i know! However everytime i unlplug my guitars i make sure the Input knob is turned right down, and the output knob is also down for good measure! I hope this method...

Yours sounds a little clearer to me. I also like your version better. IMHO, if you wanted to get it to sound identical (again to MY ears) you just need to back off a little presence. But apart from that, spot on!

Grates on me too. People on here like Mark Day are hounded by that comment! Tone is very subjective and if someone wants oodles of gain on their tone then whack it up :D I for one am a gain freak so i like to crank that baby up! btw, i dont HATE everyone who complains about it as your topic...

Mesa 20/20 vs Marshall EL84 20/20?

I've only had experience with the Marshall 20/20. Good sound, I actually quite liked the deep switch and it certainly does give a hefty boost around the 80-100hz area. Definitely beefed up my tone. And for 20watts, its pretty damn loud! However, if you play with a really loud drummer and/or loud...

Smooth Distortion w/o "breakup"

I've found backing off the presence helps. Turn it all the way off then bring it up to taste. All try a PEQ and block those high frequenices. Around 5k usually helps.

Using Power conditioner to turn everything on?

I have my Axefx plugged into my Power Conditioner and i leave the Axe turned on at all times and use the Pow Con main as its on/off. I believe (hope) this is ok.

Thanks for this Rob. Great post. I'm trying to decided which way to go...IEM or wedges. I live in England so I'm gonna check these guys out. I always thought custom fits would be wayyy out of my price range so this is very appealing to me. Any ideas how much extra it would be for dual drivers?

Live setup - using your own speakers AND feeding the FOH?

Re: Live setup - using your own speakers AND feeding the FOH Output 1 XLR to FOH/snake. Output 2 to your poweramp/cabs. Why mic up your cab? The direct feed with cab and mic sims are all you should need for FOH and should be more than good enough. Entirely upto you tho it's your set up.

Yep i will try and get the patch up. I'm quite new to all this MIDI stuff so bear with me :oops: And thats also if i can find the patch. I'm currently using a Uber sim based patch.
