Les Paul Custom - Muddy sounding neck pickup.

Interesting. First I've heard of it, but makes sense. I may try the original 87 pickup...which is probably the same or very similar to the T-Top. My understanding about the T-Tops, is that they put the 'T' on the bobbin, so the winders would all wind them the same way, with the 'T'...on top!

Won’t help if there is a direct or indirect strike. The surge will blow right through the power bar. This happened a few weeks ago, in town. It’s a hydro substation that took either a direct or indirect hit. Those are 44k transformers exploding, which were most likely protected by very big...

It was a while ago, but if I recall, it was within 30 seconds or so. The smell of ozone is one definite indicator. It smells like it does when you first turn on your furnace in the fall or the smell of an arc welder. Also, as @mr_fender said, the hair on your neck and arms will stand on end...

I unplug my rack, which includes the Axe-Fx, my amps. and my computers as well. I have a power conditioner in my rack and it's plugged into a surge protected power bar. None of which, would keep a line strike from permanently damaging all my gear. Many years ago, the school where I teach at...
