    FCs in Europe?

Disclaimer, I don't work for G66, nor do I have any inside knowledge - But, I would bet that G66 operate on a first come (requested), first served basis, so the early pre-waitlist requests were merged with the waitlist and thus customers are served based on the date that they requested an FC or...

Axe-Fx III Firmware Version 5.09 Public Beta

Great minds think alike :-) Except I don't have tempo in my performance screen setup. Instead I have delay mix, trem speed, rotary speed ect depending on the preset, and that control is on the last slot, otherwise identical.

    FCs in Europe?

Patience, not everybody get their notice the same day even if their FC is in this shipment, only so many hours in a day and a busy time for G66. I got a FC-12 in the first shipment and I'm waiting for a FC-6 in this shipment, but also haven't got my notice yet. Sussi has never ignored the...

    FCs in Europe?

The FC-12 is great and mindnumbingly easily to use. I had it up and running in literally 10 seconds without reading a word from the manual, just loading the standard settings for the FC-12 from my Axe III. So easy and intuitive to use. I know it will be even better when I get around to...

    Axe Fx3 as cabin luggage?

I used to put my Axe II XL+ in a cabin suitcase drapped in bubblewrap and take it with me as cabin luggage, you could easily do the same with the Axe III. The III will be even easier to fit in a suitcase I think.

Announcing the FM3 Amp Modeler/FX Processor!

Really looking forward to getting the FM3. Love the form factor and feature set with I/O, USB I/O and getting Axe III Ares tones in a small fly & grab-n-go rig that as bonus is modular and expandable is just perfect for me. Been missing my AX8 for stuff like that. Also really curious to see...

    Axe-Fest East – Boston Amp Show - April 27-28

    Axe-Fest East – Boston Amp Show - April 27-28

I loved my AX8 - but the sound of the Axe III is waaaaay better, the user interface is waaaaay better - so the although the AX8 is nice and is indeed a totally pro piece of gear, an upgrade to the FM3 from the AX8 is a no-brainer IMHO, if you have the dough to make it happen.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware Version 5.03

Moving from a FX8 to Axe 3 Question (Drives)

I too have to disagree on that. I've sold my Axe II's, AX8 and FX8 in favor of the Axe III and use it both with the amp sims and with tube amps, and IMHO the Axe III is better than any of the previous generations, great as they all are, including the FX8 for many reasons, including -Drives are...

    External Preamp into Axe Fx

When you try the Soldano amps in the Axe III (SLO, X88 & X99) I don't think you'll want to use the external preamp's anymore. If you have any way of trying of the different monitors out yourself definitely do so, as it's hardly a case of one set/brand being better than the others, more a personal and subjective thing. Axe-Fx III Firmware Version 5.00 Beta

Tracked solos, fills, layered additional rhythm parts and re-did a few parts for 3 songs for a project yesterday on FW 4.03. Suhr vs PRS vs ??

Peter Rahbek has got everything right, i.e. I like vintage kinds of guitars, a good friend loves PRS guitars and other modern-but-somewhat-traditional types of guitars and a third friend comes from the very modern shred-approved camp guitarwise (MusicMan, Ibanez and Moser), normally we don't...

FC-12 at first blush, from a current RJM user

  48. R

    Drive Block Status

IIRC Cliff stated in another thread that CPU usage would be slightly higher than now for the new and improved drive models
  49. R

    Drive Block Status

This is exactly what I've been doing as well :-) Sometimes I have the fuzz pedal(s) in a midi controlled mini switcher (RJM) without the buffer engaged in front off the Axe III's front input, sometimes just the pedal(s) between my guitar and the Axe III's front input
  50. R

    Drive Block Status

Well, if the fuzz models in the Axe III gets on par with the real deal, I might put another exp pedal on the board to control the pedal gain/input and try that as a potential work around. I realize that it's not absolutely the as the real volume pot interaction, but it might be close enough -...
  51. R

    Drive Block Status

Several loop systems lets you decide whether you want a buffer in line or not, including the RJM mini effects gizmo that I sometimes have my fuzz pedals in before the Axe III input, but here we are talking about the virtuel fuzz pedals in the Axe, and whether they could model the real dynamic...
  52. R

    Drive Block Status

I agree the Axe is exceptional, and the Axe III is the cornerstone of both my live and my studio rig. 54. R

    Drive Block Status

Since this is virtual pedals maybe the models of the fuzz pedals could be done in a way, where the fuzz "sees" a unbuffered signal and reacts accordingly. I know some hi-end custom builders like Skrydstrup have "magic" boxes that will make a fuzz behave as if it recieves an unbuffered/directly...
  55. R

    Drive Block Status

Truly cool and exciting stuff Cliff. As good as I think the current drives are, I'm excited about the re-work and upgrade for them, and mostly I'm hoping that this will bring the fuzz pedals closer to the tone, behavior and dynamic nature of real fuzz pedals. Can you reveal if the fuzz pedals...

FRFR for both my Fractal and my overall monitor mix

Depends on budget and other factors, DXR10's are really nice on a mid budget, but the CLRs are awesome and punches way over their price, easily up to 2.5-3 times their price in my experience. The CLRs have 2 inputs at each monitor, so they can do what you want. If you have the coin for the CLR...

Yes, but my question was originally directed at yeky83. But now that you bring it up, I'd like to know if the OP tried it as well, doesn't say for sure in his post that he has, and based on my personal hands on experience with the CLRs they absolutely kill as a "bedroom level / home" monitor...

I like FRFR as you can use IRs and have cab sounds that match the amp models that you choose and the size and weight, or portability is better than real cabs and a power amp - I prefer FRFR to a power amp and cab. The Atomic Amps CLR monitors are great for both bedroom volume and stage use. I...

Hey yeky83, I got and appreciate your point on Resolution Magazine and Keith Holland, you opened the door to whether some stuff was not measurable, where I think that at -least theoretically- every characteristic of a monitor is or should be measurable. Best monitor for Axe-Fx III

I agree and I'd personally go with 1 CLR over 2 budget studio monitors any day of the week if 2 CLRs are out of reach. One CLR is 300$ more than 2 HS8's and they are worlds apart. The CLRs are as great for low volume bedroom playing as they are for stage volume IMO.

I think it's a bit silly to put words in somebody else's mouth ! Hey yeky83, Regarding point 2 and your response - I don't have a PhD in audio science and know better than to pick a fight with those who have, but I'm quite sure that most of the characteristics of any given monitor can indeed (at least theoretically) be measured, but maybe "we" don't have all...

    Best monitor for Axe-Fx III

Hey yeky83, Firstly - the very important premise here is that the OP asks for advice on studio monitors to give him a full and rich sound when playing his Axe III - so he is asking for a "pleasure listening option" and not a mixing / analysis tool. I know you have knowledge in this field, so...
