Great video! Like Simeon said this goes back to Axe-Fx I standard days. But I think it takes someone like @2112 to explain it super clearly. We even used to use delay blocks to support lengthier IRs when the cab block only supported 512 samples.

Occasionally I've seen my USB audio through the Axe-FX III stop working - both ASIO and windows audio. I think the most reliable way I've found to reproduce this is just leaving the Axe-Fx III on overnight but occasionally it happens within hours (hours from first turning on the Axe-Fx III)...

    Studio monitor for Axe-Fx III?

Yeah they do. To me both are in the category of "you get out what you put in". For a standard tuned guitar, not really as it is mostly around 40-80 Hz but very noticeable when playing music through them. And their respective frequency response charts show that to be the case as well. For...

No condescension here - just straight facts.
  18. AlbertA

Not a Bug USB A port unfunctional

Any cable can be made with those TYPE A connectors. But they wouldn't be certified by the USB consortium.
  19. AlbertA

Not a Bug USB A port unfunctional

This is demonstrably false. The spec COVERS connectors, including TYPE A and TYPE B and what the class roles associated with them. TYPE A to TYPE A has never been in the USB SPEC. The closest is USB OTG which introduces mini-AB and micro-AB where both ends can negotiate the role but not TYPE A.
  20. AlbertA

Not a Bug USB A port unfunctional

Because in order to to that, you would have to use a cable outside of the USB spec (USB-A male to USB-A male), which is dangerous on any product.

  31. AlbertA

How many care if the Theaters close permently?

I would miss going to Dolby Cinema's - those are the best ones. Or the IMAX in Webb chappel Dallas, which still uses 70mm (rarely) for Nolan's films.

  33. AlbertA

    Implemented LFO Controllers Hicut parameter

Yep. I guess that's true but I suppose it depends how attack and release damping are implemented. It may be different than putting a high-cut filter. Also with a high-cut filter you could actually see the resulting random shape in the Axe-Fx III controllers page which would be neat.
  34. AlbertA

    Implemented LFO Controllers Hicut parameter

An audio signal is just a.... signal. Think what "high frequency" means - regardless of signal. In the time domain, it's how fast something rises or lowers- the faster it rises/lowers the more higher frequencies exist for that signal. Now think of a random LFO shape, because of the sample and...

So you are not using auto-engage? But rather the built-in expression pedal switch?
  67. AlbertA

How to get an effect on only one side?

The easiest way is probably using a Mixer block and it's per-row balance controls. Here for example, reverb is on the left, dry on the right. I used the reverb's level control to balance out the level between L and R.
  68. AlbertA

Why are different amp channels treated as different models?

That's just simply how Fractal has decided to present their amp/drive UI - I'm sure it makes it easier for them given the amount of amps/drives available. From a certain perspective - it presents a consistent view for amp controls - so even if a user choosing very different models, you sort of...

    Cab question

To answer the original question, yes, sometimes I will change the low cut, sometimes the high cut on the IR slot itself. Mostly 80-100Hz on the low cut, around 10KHz on the high cut.

    Nice and tidy

@InsideOut This is indeed nice and tidy - How are you liking the Boss pedals? Are those the FV-500? Have you used the Fractal EV-1 or EV-2? Where do you guys source your right angle 1/4 TRS cables from?
