    i know you’ll love Liam’s preamps. I’m a minimalist too. I have the FM9 but the FM3 would’ve worked. I’ve got a vintage 65 deluxe reverb and a vintage 66 twin reverb. Great amps. i hate to say it but because I can specifically tailor the Fender amp preset for the guitar, I like the sound better...

    Primarily, if you are connecting the XLR output from the FR10 to a PA’s mixing console, make sure the cable you are using to connect it is not plugged into an input that has engaged phantom power on the console’s input channel.

    One thing that has me thinking now and then insofar as upgrade/hot rodding might be the power amp. Maybe something like a Gallium Nitride, Pascal or Hypex chipped Class D power amp.

    It’s not strange that you don’t “watch” the volume knob when playing. There’s hidden sarcasm methinks… I much prefer the multi position military grade knobs of the eq.

    The only small thing on the v2 is the clip light on clear volume knob. Don’t need a clip light and the black eq style pot/knob on the volume would have been perfection…for me. Not complaining! The new pres were worth it. 😀 …but…I would buy 2 more if I could get that feature.

    I understand the balanced inversion of the negative side… But I was thinking we are sending a line level signal unbalanced which is much less I think than 4.77v ? -10dBv

    Both tilt and non-tilt here and they both sound good. Still listening to the amps with the new pres. So far, so good. I’ve got a Geroge Benson Twin in another room and I’m doing compares and adjusting.

    Got my V2s from @WKSmith and installed them, pretty easy! One of the FR12s metal form though was lodged in place pretty good and took some force to get it out. Looking forward to a good listening/playing session this weekend. Thanks @WKSmith !!!

    Hmmm ? I play Gibson L5s and the Fender FR-12 is perfect for jazz. Any digital monitor, including the EV you mentioned has latency, and it is a deal breaker with jazz for me.

    WRT the FM9: Before the latest release I measured 5ms with a simple preset: amp- cab- reverb- delay Then 32 samples were claimed as recovered. ~3/4 ms ? edit: we still do not understand why the latency is greater than the fm3 and axe3

    Maybe you could do a test for me. I tried the British Spring Reverb and I think the hollow body causes the algorithm to go haywire and spit out a piercing frequency. Maybe not the right place but while I’ve got someone with a hollow body…. :)

    From the day I bought the Axe I was uncomfortable with the notion of playing with the knobs on the Axe to adjust EQ playing live. But because the modeling was so darn good, I’ve never looked back. So, I really, really like that Fender integrated an EQ(could’ve been a little quieter though :) )

    @Rockwell The FR10 frequencies response is good but is going to lack power compared to the FR-12. I have 2 FR-12s side by side and it is quite good. I don’t think the V2 pre can address power issues as it is a preamp. You do have the bass knob. :)

    Wonder how that sounds compared to the “ Seymour Duncan Hot Rails single coil-sized humbucker “ in the Mike Stern Yamaha I have. I’ve got a nice tele and love the stock neck pickup but that humbucker on the Mike Stern model is great!

    To me, having high end audio components in the signal chain is a match made in heaven with a Fractal device. The only component I wonder about is the quality of the power amp. Time will tell I suppose. But I do like the speakers in these FRs.
