Realism of IRs vs Tone Match - Which is more real

Unless you can find IRs that really nail it, go with the TM. That's what I do for achieving that realistic depth, thump and sizzle that you get from a mic'd up amp/cab set up. Even KPA lacks that with most profiles.

I am not entirely sure what's going on but I've tried it about 4 times so far. I start building a patch with 5153 Blue model and after a while, the unit just reboots on its own. At first I thought maybe re-installing the firmware would solve this issue but that didn't help either. Anyone...

I believe I was using one of German cabs. Not sure which one. I did a reset on my Axe without backing my patches up. I will be working extensively with JVM amps over the weekend and try to do tone matching with my actual JVM as well. Axe II is just one amazing unit of goodness!

Ultra Owner considering the Axe 2... once bitten, twice shy.

I just got a II, I love it but I got an Ultra basically a month after the II came out. I am always going to keep it around because the tones I get thru it are awesome as all hell! That being said, I will have no life for the coming weeks because all of my time shall be devoted to the II!

I'm getting my II pretty soon but will hang on to my Ultra. From what I've heard so far, I prefer the Recto models on Ultra. Also, Ultra was one piece of gear I wanted so friggin bad. Won't part with it now!

AxeFX II Reamp VIDEO Judas Priest!!! Mark Day

I agree with Mark helping the sales of Axe units. However, I was very surprised to see Misha Mansoor did not get a II. Also he wasn't a beta tester either. Mark has his share of selling Axe Fx units but I think Misha has helped sell more units than most people. I got to know about Axe through...

Quick high gain clip till I wait for my Ultra to arrive.

Yeah I'm gonna start offloading some gear so I can arrange enough funds for an AxeFx II. Gonna sell the Ibanez guitars soon.

I whipped up this clip while practicing at home. I am not a pro guitarist / artist / producer so excuse me for my sucky playing and mixing :)

Got my "II" yesterday... (bonus metal clip inside!)

Cool. Don't use another track with it. Just do some riffs of your own with your high gain patches or presets. It would give a lot better idea of what the high gain sounds are like on the II. I envy you man :) Enjoy your II!

Periphany on tour with the AXE-FX

I draw the line at 7. I have a few of those and they take me the lowest I want to go. I love listening to artists using 8 strings and super low tunings but thats about it. Me, I am good with 7s!
