...it anyways... I have a scene that I use from the Fractal Gift of Tone series from a couple years back from Fremen's preset, it's the acoustic sim scene. When you switch from any other preset or scene to that one scene in that preset (the scene without the Amp block) you get some pretty loud...

Can We Stop Calling It A Home Studio?

I think acoustic treatment isn’t a must have if your work primarily with synths or other “in the box” instruments such as doing scoring using big sample libraries etc. If you have a decent set of headphones and know how it transfers to other systems you don’t even “need” so called “studio...

Why is it necessary to apply high/lo pass filters to cabs?

So I am a bit confused by this as well, because while a given amp thru a specific speaker cab may attenuate highs and lows IRL, I am not sure that additionally running it through delays, reverbs, "enhancers", and of course the virtual mics used to create speaker sims, etc., means that you still...

Got a request that will make the tube die-hards think....can you do a demo video?

I don't agree with that. I think the power amp sims in the fractal are, for lack of a better word, perfect. If I wanted a cab in the room sound, I'd leave PA modeling on and run a hifi-style class-D amp with a high damping factor into a cab. I even know the cab and amp I would use. Thanks to...

I've watched jut about every demo of the Fender product. About the only thing it has over the FM9, is arguably the on device interface. I was impressed with that. But, it is just lacking everywhere else. One demo showed the only way to have one output to a non FRFR power amp and CAB, and one...

Acoustics and the FM9 are peanut butter and jelly. You can run your acoustic through a similar signal chain (chorus and reverb) or you can add in an acoustic IR if you want. They can help tame some quack. I like to bring a compressor along in my acoustic presets. Sometimes a CAB block with a...

    Dyna-cab on FM3?

I could see the FM3 having two slots, with the choice of Legacy or Dyna-Cab for each, as many use standard IR's for acoustic sims etc, so IMO it would be important to have both cab slots configurable differently. Is there an easy way to export (collapse) four IR's to 1 IR

...using the same method described in re-amp. It kinda works but I noticed that some IRs lose high-end (a lot). I have an IR that is kinda acoustic sim and which uses a lot of high frequencies, this IR becomes very dull and focused on mid-range when I tried sending it through IR Utility. Maybe...

Is the a preset to make an electric guitar sound like an “acoustic”?

Cool its made by the same people. Im sure there is some similarity in the algorithm, as I mentioned. Just as all specific comanies- fractals, strymons, line 6, etc share similar algorithms. Of course (the physical tech inside) a guitar is different than in a stomp box.

The Line 6 Acoustic Sim is just a model of the Boss Acoustic Sim pedal, not the same tech in the Variax.

There is definitely an interesting feel to play electric but hear acoustic coming out. Also Boss/Fender has that "acoustic sim" pedal which may be the same thing the HX was doing, only fender style.

I’ve tried some sims. They sound ‘acoustic-ish’. Maybe in a band setting they would do a passable job. But no, compared to an actual acoustic the sims sound like sims. Sterile, bright, processed, no real acoustic warmth. Still fun to screw with though. You’ll have to try it for yourself.

...that the performance latency probably was not very good having owned several guitar synthesizers over the years and I also owned a Boss Acoustic sim for a while, anyways, I apricate your comments chiming in to validate my suspicion. It would be fantastic to just have a block in the FAS...

Is the a preset to make an electric guitar sound like an “acoustic”?

well if you can find the vid please share the link, I'd be interested having owned a FM3, ...I spent a considerable amount of time unsuccessfully trying to dial in a true acoustic sound (true acoustic), I'm guessing that it may be semi achieved using IR's but the FM3 and FM9 cant create them so...

I will say I have seen a YouTube video where someone does it on FM3. HX stomp had a great acoustic sim.
