    I remeber there was an educative discussion with Cliff da'man0himself about axefx II cooling system. I don't know how III an FM3 handle the heat. Da'man knows! :) The problem is the air flow inside the box, and obviously the dissipation area.

    If we double the surface, we double thermal dissipation. Cliff stated the 3 processor circuit board fit almost all of the FM3. If we add a processor we have way less than double heat. Hence a FM9 (two FM3) will handle it nicely without any air opening (the FM3 have a cooling fan already)...

    The point of FM-6-7-9 is not the number of button, but the board space for CPU/memory/component. Many user wish to have AXEFX III in studio and transfer their patches into a pedalboard. The main problem seems to be dual amp block with hi-res, and the number of istance per block.

    I feel it too, compared to v8... I like the overdrive, but for cleaner sound I had to tweak down the drive a little. I like a bit of speaker compress, around 1.

    why is there a limit for blocks...why not 3 pitch blocks or 3 amp or whatever

    I have AX8, so one amp block at a time. A volume to boost a digital effect has no... effect, on the overdrive! (If it has an overdrive, like delay, there is little reason to use an external drive). I do like parallel modulation/time based effect... add a drive before a reverb, and another drive...
