    EV-1 or EV-2

I did a video on them a while back that compares them. I am totally used to using the EV-2 live and would recommend it. I never miss having a larger pedal, and the small size is so great for transporting. I do use an EV-1 at the home studio and enjoy that too.

How to eliminate feedback on my stage monitor

I had a feedback issue under similar circumstances and traced it to my guitar. The strings on the guitar (EBJP) between the nut and tuners were vibrating and causing feedback down the strings and into the pickup. A hairband or string dampener up above the nut solved the issue. May not be...

Very cool. I worked this up too a bit ago. I agree that capturing the sound of the arps is the biggest challenge with doing it in the box - you got it closer than I did. I had similar approach w/ the random-ness - making a pattern of 15 to cover the repeating. Great job.

    EV-2 reviews?

Saw this older thread pop up - I did an overview on the Fractal pedals - info in there comparing the two models. I agree with Rex's opinion that Mission pedals feel more like a Crybaby and the Fractal pedals have more of an EB feel.
  37. CodePoet

EV-1 vs EV-2 regarding pedal motion.

I find they both have a big sweep for their respective sizes. Being smaller, the total travel distance of the EV-2 is a bit shorter. To my feet, the travel distance of the EV-2 is more in the ballpark of other (larger) pedals. The EV-1 feels more extended. My "Tale of the Taper" video in my...

Increase in noise when using stompbox in FX Loop

I ran through those options, thanks. In this usage (FX Loop before the amp), it doesn't eliminate the hiss. The levels adjust a bit but the hiss is still generated.
  39. CodePoet

Increase in noise when using stompbox in FX Loop

I've found that using the FX Loop prior to the Amp block results in a lot of hiss being amplified by the Amp block. You can hear it if you just jump the loop by plugging a cable from Out 2 to In 2 - with no external pedals. Setting the levels of Out 2, pads, etc. don't affect the hiss. Using...

Fractal Expression Pedal Tale of the Taper

Of course being in the digital realm, you can tweak the response curve of the pedal as well on your Axe/AX8/FX8. If there's too much travel for your liking you can set up the curve to use less than 100% of the total distance. (You could even stick a stopper to the pedal to limit the physical...

Not sure how it's implemented, but the main point of the product is to take a USB Midi signal and convert it to Bluetooth MIDI. Product page is at the link below if that provides any more detail. As I described, it works somewhat with FracPad and the AX8 initially but then things drop out.

Delay Setting Question - 1st Repeat Too Loud

Another vote for using Lo- and Hi- cut on your delays. You can often run the delay levels higher if you carve out the low and hi end from them. Compression on the delay is also a trick to keep the delay level up if that's something you're looking for.

the trick to make any IR sound great, and make great ones sound RIDICULOUS

This "trick" (or early reflection reverb) is really a key to getting a realistic sound when using headphones. When you hear a guitar in a room, you're hearing directly from the speaker, but you also get a lot of reflections from the floor, room, ceiling, etc. That's what makes the sound "3D"...
