Drive models: 8x Amp-in-a-box

I did a shootout of 8 Drive models that can perform as a blasting "amp in a box".
Meaning that they are able to turn a clean amp model into highly overdriven rock monster.

From Fractal's inventory I selected:
  • Heartpedal 11 (Lovepedal Amp Eleven)
  • 3-knob Tube Driver
  • Suhr Riot
  • Fulll OD (Fulltone Full-Drive)
  • Eternal Love (Lovepedal Eternity)
  • Compulsion Distortion (Fulltone OCD)
  • BB Pre (Xotic BB preamp)
  • Box o'Crunch (MI Audio Crunch Box)
The "Compulsion Distortion" (OCD) came out on top. "Heartpedal" probably in 2nd place. Highly subjective, of course.
I like the Crunch Box too, but only with a trick: Drive real low, Level turned up, Tone at 10.

No time or urge to make a video or soundclips, but I've attached the preset I created. Maybe it's useful to you, or someone can make a video.

The OCD is one of my favorite drives in general. I hate screechy bridge pickup lead tones (mostly), and it's good for fatter ones.

The BB Pre is up there too for similar uses.

Both need appropriate settings to use them for that purpose.
 
Going to check this out soon. Have to learn a lot of pop music for a cover band so looking for new and creative ways to go from being in the pocket very clean to coming out to rip a quick lead. Never really tried the clean amp with distortion pedal route so this will be cool to explore
