Doesn’t look different but I had Glaser Instruments re-fret and plek the neck…
It plays like a new guitar now but it needs to be broken in. It’s a 1976 vintage…I replaced the pickguard years ago with original nitro…300 bucks…2 years later it would’ve cost 800…and they stopped making them altogether… Anyhow, great guitar and I love that plek machine!

That is sweet! I’m such a sucker for Gibson Archtops. I still need to add an L-5 and a Super 400 to my collection of them.

Yeah, a 400…never owned one, but they kinda scare me, that’s a big boy! :)
I almost bought a Lee Ritenour L5, which goes the other way…it’s slightly smaller than the L5…dang I should’ve bought one…

Oh man, I had an L5-CES in high school, loved it. Gigged it playing rock, not the jazz it's built for. Terry Haggerty was my hero.

Stolen along with a carload of gear. Real shame, we were idiots.

Would like one again some day. Mine was from one of the few years with the pretty small neck I think, may be kind of hard to find, and way more money now.

go ahead…no worries
I’d like to know more if @Dave Merrill has info on this slim neck thing…never thought about it much, but historically I think it would be interesting
Okay! You don’t have to twist my arm. 😊

There’s a few more but, I think that’s enough for the time being.

@SASouth you have too many beautiful guitars :)
…i only ever wanted the L5, and I’m aware of the models you’ve shown, but I’ve always been curious as to exactly how they sound in comparison…
