I was think the exact same thing!1) playing the Beatles can be easy for a newbie but if you want to sound "like" the Beatles you have to get some techniques and do some sound research;
A couple years ago, I bought a Chinese made, Epiphone Casino for $600 CDN, including the case. It's an absolutely beautiful guitar, both to look at and to play. The P90's through my VOX amps, sound amazing. It's a very unique tone with the combination of the P90's and the hollow body.2) the sound of the Epiphone Casino is very good: I was thinking about getting a semi hollow guitar to have in studio and for around 500€ (yes the Casino VS model not the USA Vintage model that is listed for more than 2600€) this could be a right choice. What do you think?
small point: the casino is a hollow body, not semi-hollow body…Looking at this video makes me think about two things:
1) playing the Beatles can be easy for a newbie but if you want to sound "like" the Beatles you have to get some techniques and do some sound research;
2) the sound of the Epiphone Casino is very good: I was thinking about getting a semi hollow guitar to have in studio and for around 500€ (yes the Casino VS model not the USA Vintage model that is listed for more than 2600€) this could be a right choice. What do you think?
Just stumbled on this video. Some great information presented. The person who made the video also does a great job of playing a few of the Beatles riffs on an Epiphone, like Get Back and Revolution. The camera angle is perfect for learning the riffs.
Your are right, corrected the post , thanks.small point: the casino is a hollow body, not semi-hollow body…
Thanks @200man, any pics of your Casino?
The camera angle is perfect for learning the riffs.
Got a link for "Mike"?just sending my universal love for casinos to the thread - currently have a "Inspired By" Lennon model which is a bit different than the typical Chinese/Korean import models. Had the elitist and the Chinese gold top ones in the past as well... been eyeing that USA made one that came out recently... bank account says no though.
[ If you're looking at how to play Beatles riffs there's only one dude and it's Mike plays every part and talks about the history of the recordings. ]
