Which type of external switch would allow me to tap for next preset and hold for previous?

If this has already been answered in detail then please direct me to the correct thread.
Otherwise, I'm just looking for a quick answer to which type of external footswitch I'd need to tap for the next preset and hold it down for the previous one?
Because all of this 'momentary/latching/TS/TRS' talk is a little confusing, if I'm honest. xD

Tanks!

You need a momentary switch to make that work. Assign it as a Stand-In switch. Then you can define it however you want.

The FM3 unfortunately does not support a dual switch into a single jack via a TRS cable. (Sorry, Fake News:D)

If you are only wanting to add 1 switch, a single, 'momentary', 'normally open', switch with a standard TS cable will work fine as a 'stand-in' switch.

I've been stomping on one of these for 15+ years without issue, but you need to be handy with a solder gun and wiring for this option
Grainger metal switch

This is a cheap option that is ready to go.. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PedalSquare--m-audio-sp-1-sustain-pedal

A minor detail, a normally open or normally closed momentary switch will work. The polarity of the switch can be changed in the Setup>I/O menu.
