Crazy to think the Black Album is now 30 years old... The whole album obviously sounds great. Of course most of you know Mr. Hetfield and his Boogie's were a big part of the monstrous rhythm tone, but Kirk's lead tone on the album is also phenomenal. I'm guessing the TS9 through the Purple Marshall 1959 SLP was his go-to for leads, although I don't doubt that there were other components playing a part. I've cooked up a preset that sounded good to my ears. Here is me playing Kirk's solo from "The God that Failed". I've also attached my preset below. Cheers Diego
