Input EQ vs output EQ on Amp block

What are the main differences here and when would you use each to shape your tone? If you were to make the same cuts on each one, would it have the same effect?

input eq adjusts what the amp distorts. cutting low end at the input can clean up a high gain tone in a great way.

output eq shapes what the amp already produced.

input vs output EQ in any situation has these qualities and creates different results based on what the goal is. definitely love that we have input eq right on the amp!

If you use an absolute clean amp, the results with an identical dialed in- or output EQ will be nearly the same.
But when an amp gets in saturation, you shape the frequency's which will distort more or less with the boost or cut of the input EQ.
Then with the output EQ, you shape the overall spectrum of the amp.
Also, dependent on the Amp model, the tone stage sits on different Places in the amp topology, so its essential to understand if the tonestack is bevor or after the most gainy stages.
