Timing on availability of exact specs/photos of FC-6/12

Most likely. Sucks just want my controller situation back to normal.
I’m in the same predicament as you. I think the MIDI Spec will not be released until after the launch of Fractal’s own FCs. It’s a real unfortunate situation that us working Musician’s can’t get our rig running after spending thousands of dollars to buy a functioning unit in the first place. I have a Mastermind GT/22 and a MFC and it kinda pisses me off things are being manipulated this way without any care or urgency or communication. Fractal is not going to put out the MIDI Spec for fear they will lose sales. Bottom line. It’s Fractal’s unit and they can do what ever they want to do, but some of us are “taking notes” and when it comes to buying an Axe-Fx IV, well these things will be an important factor when considering to purchase.
Sorry to all the fan boys who are going to flame me to death, but so what. It needs to be said. I would have never released a multi-thousand dollar unit, plus make people pay an extra $1000.00 to not have to wait forever to get one, then leave MIDI out. That’s not smart business. That’s called something else.

No MIDI whatsoever (no clock, etc.) is a little more than “early adopter pains” Sure you can program it in to an extent. But, it has rubbed me the wrong way since, as the days roll on by, this looks more and more planned to maximize dollars at the expense of the performing musician. It’s not the Fractal I’m used to dealing with.

I bought a Helix to use as a controller for the Axe-FX III and it is awesome. They work really well together. Setting up the midi only took me a couple hours to figure out and it was my first time using midi. It is a really fun setup, I love it.

Sorry, but what do you mean by "no midi"? Are you talking about the FC or the Axe Fx III?

The FC will control the Axe Fx III including the midi block within.

The Axe Fx III itself is fully midi controllable.

Based on what? The fact that they have done so in the past for the previous generation controllers? If that were the case, they'd have just held onto it to not lose sales on the MFC.

I think you guys are being completely ridiculous...

The FCs are not ready, and it has already been stated by Cliff why...

Fractal is a small company. Getting the Axe Fx III features completed as well as Axe Edit III, as well as porting Ares to Axe Fx II, as well as prepping and shipping the IIIs...

How much time do you think they have?

The UK buyers may (one hopes) be lucky- the F.C. may be out by the time the III hits the UK. Though reading between the lines it’s pretty doubtful.....
III released too early = no F.C. and lots of teething problems - seems like the winners are UPS.

I'm not sure that the III was released too early considering its specialised market. The III is a big product development step, with new hardware and software. There's a limit to how much testing a small company can do, even with a team of beta testers. The early owners are, in the main, an experienced set of people who know how to cope with bugs. If this were a mass market product then the story would be different.

The foot controllers are new too, and shipping them at the same time would have added even more complexity.

However I do agree with your sentiment that the product isn't ready for some of us. I won't upgrade until I can buy both the III and controller.

Maybe the midi spec isn't available publicly because it's not yet final?
Specs can be hard to change once they are in the wild, so you do need to try and get it pretty much perfect before it's released.
Better not to rush these things out the door.
The fact that it will get future support means this is not about $$ - otherwise it would remain private forever.

For those that can't wait, just use pc/cc messages for now, not really a deal breaker.

Interesting. This is my plan too seeing as I already have a Helix floor. Looks real easy to match them up - scribble strips and all.

My guess, once AEIII is out of beta all the pieces will be in place to move forward with the FC’s
