AustinBuddy's 700+ Naked Amps TonePack
is the perfect tool for record producers and engineers who want every Fractal amp model available, in mono and dialed-in "dry", or for artists and guitarists looking for new inspiration through auditioning multiple amp sounds. This collection makes it easier for you to find and enjoy the tones and amps you love, and is available for both 8.02 and 9.02 firmware versions!

WHAT YOU GET
Over 700 "ready to go" and unique tones covered in over 400 dialed-in presets that span every amp modeled in the AX8 under firmware Quantum 8.02 or 9.02. The presets were designed for the AX8 and use a foot switch-assigned drive block (defaults to off) and a foot switch-assigned Scene 1/2 block to switch between tones within a preset. Only factory cabs were used.

The Naked Amps TonePack is organized into three different banks for loading: Vintage & Boutique Amps, Modern Amps, and Clean Sounds. Vintage amps are ordered chronologically.

This TonePack will save you countless hours of time in setting up, programming, and auditioning from-scratch presets.

Each preset includes two scenes of every amp channel modeled by Fractal Audio in the AX8. Presets nomenclature uses the name of the real-life counterpart amp modeled.* Different factory cabs were often chosen within in the same preset, demonstrating how much cab choice affects the tone.

Check out the blog post here for more details on how this amazing and comprehensive TonePack was created.

BONUS PRESETS!

As an added bonus, AustinBuddy's 700+ Naked Amps TonePack also includes 40 Classic Rock and Old-School Blues TonePack of his own design for the Axe-Fx and AX8, with detailed on instructions on the kind of guitar used and settings to recreate each iconic tone on FRFR monitors.

This is the preset collection you've been waiting for, and will help you get the most out of your Fractal and save you hours of time and provide your playing with endless inspiration.

You can use Axe-Edit's Preset Manager to load and auto-audition presets into your AX8. and copy what you love to your Fractal unit's memory for live and recording use. See the blog for video instructions on how to load the TonePack for your Fractal.

You can only buy the 700+ Naked Amps TonePack at AustinBuddy's on-line store.

Part I: Here are some representative sound clips with multiple examples in each of some tones in 700+ Naked Amps TonePack, compiled from a few Austin guitarists I know, to give you a sense of the tonal variations provided. Many thanks to Kyle Crusham, John Finley, and Scott Unzicker for playing here. John and Scott had never played a Fractal before, and they, along with Kyle, were quite impressed!

I just bought the pack this morning -- Wow, the clean presets are really incredible. I've always had trouble trying to dial in those nice vintage clean tones on my own, so this is a dream.

These will be AWESOME for recording and adding effects to based on the minimal flipping through the clean presets and some of the crunchier ones, too.

It's gonna take me a long, long time to explore all the presets, so I feel it's well worth it!

Thank you for doing this!!

Thanks so much! Be sure to try the drive pedals too with the Cleans Only amp bank, they are micro-boosts mainly (not distortion) and can really fatten or warm up a great clean even further, especially for single coils! Really proud of this part of the TonePack!

I noticed the drive blocks on the Cleans Only bank -- Nice touch! It definitely worked well with the strat I was noodling around with. Man, really really nice. I would recommend these to anyone for sure.

I'm hoping to find a nice crunchy/distorted preset that will work well with my Strat that I can kind of leave on and use my volume/tone to get clean/dirty/lead tones without stepping on any foot switches, except maybe a slight boost. Any suggestions on where to start on that quest in your presets?

Try the Marshall JTM 45, set the gain high for your preferred lead tone, then drop volume and it should clean up...it worked for Jimi! ;)

I've tried various other commercial presets over the last year and they never did fully jive with me, I definitely picked up information on effects and routing but was never too happy with the overall tone.

But holy moly, these presets are amazing !! Especially the vintage amp tones that I spent 2 hours on last night... a large number of them I auditioned were so good. It is super helpful to have a great tonal reference for all these amps paired with the right cab... and there is a drive pedal that works with the amp in the preset.
I had created a similar set of presets myself (just 8-10 of them) for amp+cabs that I was using for a reference. But these presets blew those away... it's not just better sounding, but the feel is great too. And I'm pleasantly surprised that it just works out of the box with my guitars which is almost always the problem I have with downloading someone else's presets.

Definitely the best money I've spent since getting the AX8.

Thank you so much for the great feedback

You can read what other buyers have said after trying the TonePack out in this previous forum thread.

I just wanted to say thank you and show gratitude for all the forum user's positive reviews.
It really makes this six-month effort worthwhile to hear Fractal users say things about the 700+ Naked Amps TonePack presets that let me know I really hit the bulls-eye with my intention behind the design of the pack.

PLAY INSPIRED!

Try the JTM 45? Or maybe the Friedman Small Box or Dirty Shirley...

I bought the naked amps pack few days ago for my AX8. Man I was blown away. Very nice and good job AustinBuddy. You just saved me a lot of hours setting those amps right.

THANK YOU.
You are quite welcome -- that's the idea. You get to hear every Fractal modeled amp the way it should sounds in real life, at a low/medium or medium high gain setting. I know this is going to help both newcomers and long-time Fractal users alike discover/rediscover the true magic in this black box!

"Made my day" story I'll share: a well-known established artist was set to do a studio session this week.

This person does not use digital modelers ever, but in this instance (due to the specific commercial nature of the work) that was the studio choice -- they had a Kemper (I think), plus a Helix and Fractal. Through an intermediary, I got contacted by someone working with the artist who knew I had the Fractal preset experience before they went in, asking for help (and I know this person from other work).

So, to help my buddy and the artist out, I sent them a single Naked Amps preset that I knew fit the artist's preferences and would like, and would work well with the artists pedal choices. They loaded it up.

Short version: artist, who is reportedly finicky about his tone ( and rightfully so!), came in and auditioned a few of the "go-to" presets the studio had used in the past for other artists preceding, both Helix and Fractal (not sure if Kemper was used), and you-guessed it -- out of all of them, he picked my sent preset.

He told them "next time I come in, that's the one we'll use as well." My buddy who was present, relayed the tale and thanked me profusely, saying "you've saved us hours of time." :) (Beaming)

Made my day (I love this artist). Unfortunately I can't share with you the artist name (and it doesn't really matter), and for that I hesitated before posting this, BUT.... you guys deserve to share in my good news and the Naked Amp preset+Fractal winning the day here.

This story underlines why I strongly believe EVERY recording studio with a Fractal needs the 700+ Naked Amps TonePack, because you never know what artist may come through the door needing a tone that works for them -- and you want to have a swiss-army arsenal of amps tones ready to go to please them, that they can audition quickly, and find fast the ones that will inspire them.

Onward and Upward!

Hey! Anyone have any NEW favorite amps they discovered (or re-discovered) from diving in and using the Naked Amps TonePack with your AX8 you want to share here?

Well I haven't had a chance to go thru all of them but the Cleans Only pack VOX patches blew me away!!! Lots of headroom & volume, clean and precise. Very amp-like, these are the best clean tones I've heard and there are some good ones out there.

AWESOME work @austinbuddy!

I bought this pack especially for the bonus presets, but was just blown away by the whole thing. You nailed so many sounds that I had in my head and couldn't get from the unit myself. Please do more of these, especially the artist inspired presets. I could think of so many I'd love to see!
