Duplicate Marshall amp models?

I'm a little bit confused by all the Marshall Plexi models, it seems like the same amplifiers have been modeled twice.

>> PLEXI 50W HI 1, PLEXI 50W HI 2, PLEXI 50W JUMP, PLEXI 50W NRML
Based on '72 50 watts head according to the wiki. Is this not a Marshall 1987x? Yet there are separate 1987X JUMP, 1987X NORMAL, 1987X TREBLE models.

>> PLEXI 100W HIGH, PLEXI 100W JUMP, PLEXI 100W NRML
Based on '69 100 watts head (EL34) according to the wiki. Is this not a Marshall SLP? Yet there are separate 1959SLP JUMP, 1959SLP NORMAL, 1959SLP TREBLE models.

What am I missing?

I think that's because there are some specifik amps chosen because they sounded great or have been modifyed with some popular mods
In some cases there have been artists that have been sending their personal amps to be modelled into our great unit.
I am not sure if that applies to the amps you are asking about ..

:)

The plexis are real plexis from what i understand, and then he got an 1987 and modeled it. Fractal has tons of amps they model from.

The 1987x is a plexi, so I don't understand your comment at all.

The point is, it looks like the 1987x and 1959 were modeled twice (first time has 'PLEXI' in the name, second time has the model number '1987X'/'1959SLP' in the name) and so we have two separate models for each, but I don't know why.

The ones with "Plexi" in front of their names are originals, while the "1987x" and "1959SLP" are models of the modern reissues, from what I understand.

From the manuals amp list:

Even though they are all the 'same amp', each incarnation of an amp has it's own characteristics. Reissues and even different years of the same amp may have very similar tones and gain structure but each still has it's own thing going on that makes them unique. Fractal has done a great job capturing these nuances and giving them to us as different models rather than leaving it to us to create them on our own from one model..

1987 are re-issues... not original model amps. There is a wiki and yek guide that shows all the amps and what they are.
