What are your favorite Fender models? (Free IR and Preset)

I’m so glad you like it! That’s a really special amp, and the cab pack is on my to-do list for sure. That’s the only IR I shot of it so far, but really looking forward to hearing other mics on it as well. Beautiful clip and nice playing! I really like your approach with the tones.

You are way too kind. I need to look back at my notes, but one of the mixes was made with the Petrucci tone in mind and I think it’s one of the SM7/condenser mic blends. I think the preset worked pretty well for that tone even with a Les Paul, but an SM7 with a Majesty guitar would take it over...

What are your favorite Fender models? (Free IR and Preset)

Has anyone tried the preset and IR yet? The IR was taken from an actual 1959 Bassman my brother is letting me borrow. I really like the character of the 10” speakers with those Fender models.

Thanks a lot everyone. I made another little clip with some different tones and styles using the same IR, Mix 01. I used my Les Paul through the Matchbox D-30, Lonestar Clean, and USA Lead for the different tones. I hope you like them!

What are your favorite Fender models? (Free IR and Preset)

Here's a preset I've been playing with along with an IR I just shot of a '59 Bassman 4x10. If you swap out any amps, just make sure you set the impedance curve to the 4x10 Bassguy. There are some different drives, delays, and reverbs to play with (Spring, Plate, Ambient, and Nonlinear)...

What are your favorite Fender models? (Free IR and Preset)

Man, I just came in from the studio, so it’s not in front of me anymore, but I THINK I had the drive up around 7.5, bass cut around 6.5-8 (you’ll find the balancing point where it cleans up and gain and the mud), and Treble between 6.5-8. I’ll give exact settings once I get in front of the Axe...

I could listen to a record of that all day long. Love the Thrice vibe and thought the mix sounded great! I’m gonna have to try that combo out. Thanks for sharing! I just tried it out and wouldn’t recommend guitar through that cab. Some older bass cabs work great for guitar (I have a couple on...

Maybe this was obvious to everyone else, but the Double Verb Normal with the Bright switch on is absolutely fantastic. I never gelled with Fender Twins in the real world (probably because turning the volume on 5 would peel paint off of a wall), but all settings at default with the mids on 10 is...

What are your favorite Fender models? (Free IR and Preset)

I’ve always been partial to the Deluxe Reverb models, but lately felt like branching out. The 5F8 Tweed and 59 Bassguy have become a couple new favorites. What models have you guys been liking lately? Edit: Attached Preset and IR. If you use the IR with your own presets, make sure to set the...

That's great to hear! And you nailed it! Different amps tend to like different cabs more than others, so mixing and matching is where it gets really fun in finding those combinations that gel well with your style. I like the amps you mentioned. Those are most of my go-to's. This is a tricky...

Thank you so much, and I didn't think your post was negative at all. I'm really glad you're finding great tones with the Mixes in the packs. I spend a lot of time on those, so it's awesome to hear that they are all you're needing to get the sounds you want. And I'm glad you like "my ears."...

Here's a clip I just made using a Looper and scrolling through the cabs. The amp settings are all the same, but I changed the impedance curves (the 2x12 Recto curve was made with this actual cabinet) to match each IR's cabinet. Each tone is just a single 57 in roughly the same spot in order to...

99% of the time I use the impedance settings "as is" once I select the appropriate impedance curve for the cabinet. Fractal really nails it with the way they measure their curves. Matt came to my studio a while back and took several measurements of my cabs and it's really interesting how they...
