I've said on more than one occasion that anyone complaining about Fractal's UI should be sentenced to a lengthy stint of algorithm development on a 2101. I'm sure it wasn't the worst but ... woof.

+1 preferably an Artist edition w/the PPC-210 expansion card so you can have ... gapless preset switching! IIRC this was probably the only consumer-grade product that featured truly flexible routing prior to Fractal. Neat piece of gear for its day.

You are correct sir, pro rather than custom. It's been a minute. That one was RR 1441. I bought a student a few years later, IIRC it was RR 0944. No tragic ex-wife stories here but UPS paid a claim for a very minor crack on 0944 and took it away to sell. EDIT: Here's 1441 circa late 80s...

Top one is a Thorn Artisan Master. Bottom is by Kenneth Lawrence Instruments. Ken's singlecut model is the Arcata but this one predates that model name emerging.
