XLR LEFT out is slightly pushed in and there is a low hum coming from it……...

so i opened her up and fixed it being pushed in but it still has that hum. i took this pic. the output with the hum is the one on the right in this pic. however that brown mark on the other seems definitely suspicious yet that output sounds and works absolutely fine.

XLR LEFT out is slightly pushed in and there is a low hum coming from it……...

so i noticed a slight hum through the XLR left out of the axe fx into my matrix power amp. i switched it to the XLR right and the hum went away. upon further investigation the LEFT XLR is slightly pushed in. I'm assuming this is what is causing the issue. my question is, is this something i can...

    Who still mics their cab?

i run my Axe Fx through a Matrix GT1000fx and into 2 4x12 cabs just like i would if i was using a tradition amp head. i guess its mostly because I'm used to it.

AotW 6: Recto (Orange and Red) Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier

like everything a tone is personal taste and many factors including guitar, pickup, YOU, etc go in to making up the right tone. but for high gain recto sounds in real life and through the axe fx its essential IMO to use a tube screamer. for me its gain on 9 o'clock and level at 12 o'clock. as...

    Noise Gate Settings

its actually super simple to make a good gate on the axe fx. i use the one on the layout page and not as a block in the grid. i turn the ATT and REL all the way down, RATIO at 2 and THRSH to taste, for me its between -55 and -50 ish. thats pretty much the only parameter i ever adjust. its an...

Sold it all and taking the plunge

may i suggest the Adam F5 or F7 series. for the money i have yet to hear anything thats more accurate and better on the ears. i personally have the F7's. i think i paid $800 for the pair, F5's are even cheaper. holy smokes!!!!!!! of course, choose what you want but these are the real deal! enjoy...

    Monitor Size

im not sure of your budget but i'll have to throw the Adam F5/F7s in the mix. Adam is world class monitoring and their F series is reasonably priced. i have the F7 monitors and honestly i couldn't ask for a better pair. i absolutely love them. if you'd rather spend less money the Equator D5...

i have a pair of the new Adam F7's and i have to say they are pretty astonishing. super clear, very true sounding. since getting them my mixes have been spot on. i have way more confidence in what im hearing with them, they are super clear, huge sounding, and low fatigue. i think they were about...

Thank you FAS/ Cliff, Recto1 is awesome as it was supposed to be!

i have a pair of the "holy grail" 2 channel dual rec rack mounts. they are the best sounding amps ive ever heard. ive never been able to get any of the rectos in the axe fx 2 even close but with this new version FAS just released, a matrix gt1000fx, and a cab its really close. i can hear a...

Power amp recommendations for IR capture

i have a Matrix GT1000FX so thats what i used to do IR capture of my cabs. im sure and pro amp would work but its also crucial to have good mics and mic preamps to get the best outcome. its all about not having a weak link in the signal chain.
