Using external switches - how to make them behave?

I'm trying to duplicate my former setup and just want to use the "side" switches to add an effect that's not in my Scene for that song or patch. Sometimes I may want more OD or to add chorus or trem. I can't always foresee what might happen on the gig. I know I can remap the switches on the AX8...

Using external switches - how to make them behave?

Okay, it does help that the MFC jack is not like the AX8. Still - and I do understand there are many possiblities - I just need to toggle a single effect with each switch. And I can't figure out how to map the effect to that switch. I will play with the hardware and see if I can get it. AX8Edit...

Using external switches - how to make them behave?

With my (now retired) Axe-FX II and MFC, I used four Boss FS-5U switches with insert cables (so only used two jacks) and was able to program them to toggle things like ODs, Chorus, Trem, etc. This was done on the MFC using MIDI codes. I believe the AX8 can do this, but after checking out the...

    Melodic lead tone

Thanks everyone. I"m sorry to say I never got to try any of these suggestions today. I've been packing and making arrangements to travel to Florida for my father's funeral on Monday. But I will save these notes and get to them next week. Your responses are all worthy and appreciated! Greg

    Melodic lead tone

Hey Jake! Thanks for responding here! It's good to hear from you. I have not tried either of those amps and will check them out tomorrow. Should be fun! Greg

    Melodic lead tone

Thanks Marciel! Huge compliments on your playing and tone! It's not the sound I was after, but it's a great tone. I will try that model. To date, I've not succeeded in finding Vox tones to my liking. You have just changed my mind and I will renew my efforts. It is a very relevant example. What...

    Melodic lead tone

I will try that! Thanks! I was playing with a TS today with my other Fender tones and it was quite pleasing. I am now running through the different Trainwreck models to try to recapture that tone from long ago. I don't know which model that was back then. I know one option is the FAS model...

I've owned a couple of them and have tried them. But I'll try them again. Gladly.

    Melodic lead tone

No. Have only used Fractal for some time now. Sold all my amps and pedals years ago. When I tried that Trainwreck back then, it really lit me up.

    Melodic lead tone

Not easy to describe a sound in my head. I'm sure many of you know that. But I will try. Guitar is usually a Strat with normal output. I'm mainly a P&W player. This tone I'm seeking will be useful there as well. But I also get asked to set up and play along with tracks. Background noise with...

Will Axe-Fx 2 patches work in an AX8?

I had very good success with FracTool when I transitioned to my AX8 from the Axe - Fx II. The AX8 tones matched up well with the originals. I don't think i was using any "forbidden" features, though. Excellent product IMO!

    Auditioning IRs

It seems long ago there was a way to audition IRs,easily. Maybe that was the Axe II. Can this be done in the AX8? Thanks! Greg

    Leave-on drive or ?

I checked out Leon's video. Excellent stuff! But nothing really jumped out for me in terms of the "leave-on" thing. I had used the RCB that way in the past, but I do believe the Fender models are much better now (this was a few years back), so I'm convinced they don't really need much "help"...
