Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta #2 (Cygnus X-3 Release Candidate)

I always tried to like the Triptik models in prior firmwares but always felt them a bit lacking and uninspiring. Not this patch. They’re NUTS. Whatever sauce they got with the improved algorithms, me likey

Fractal Audio DynaCab Packs Now Available

This looks super cool. I'm curious about a couple things: Right now it appears the way this works is you use Cab Lab to mix your DynaCab IR, and then it gets loaded as a regular IR slot in the Axe / FM3? Is that correct? If so, are there plans to allow these packs to be directly loaded onto the...

Is there a consensus headphone choice?

Another +1 for the Beyer DT880Pro. I find playing with those headphones inspiring.

Does FAS have interest in creating an amp model editor that we could use to build schematics and load a new amp model into the AxeFX?

Assuming doing so won't reveal any IP through reverse engineering, this could be a cool next step for the AxeFX. I would love to tinker at the schematic level to build amps that don't exist and use the AxeFX to learn more about how the circuit and component changes alter tone. I could even see...

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

Sadly on the McCarty, the TCI 58/15 LT pickups are so sensitive to position that moving them down kills the tone. I tried it anyway and only got like 1% out of it, so wasn't worth the tone shift.

    Whole enchilada. Rig Porn!

I love it, but the reach isn’t a big deal for me since I use Axe edit. It’s a far better setup that the hodgepodge of rack and amp table and small desk I had before, and it’s freed up a lot of space for me. I also get better stereo separation with my monitors since I’m able to place them better...

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

Thanks for the link and the clarification. I do agree it's hard to keep up with documentation, but I suspect some simple, quick updates could add a lot of clarity and cut down on super-long threads like the one you shared. As a former PM I know that documentation is always the last thing to be...

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

This is my experience with high output and low output pickups, and personally why I almost always use lower output pickups. It gives me more dynamic range with my picking hand, and if I want more overall gain I just turn the amp up. In my clipping example between the 58/15 LT and the SSH+, it's...

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

I understand that and I currently have it set at 5%. What's challenging, though, is there isn't any "real world" impact listed anywhere in the manual or the wiki, or even Yek's write up about it. Yek's write up states: But what is "setting it right"? Higher % = better SNR or worse? At what...

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

It certainly makes me less likely to post questions in the future. Most of us are on this forum to help and support one another, and dismissive posts like that certainly aren't helpful or supportive, nor are they flattering for the poster.

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

It's for checking tuning stability at-a-glance while playing. Not actively tuning. And if you read above you'd see that for many of us, we're at or below 5% and there isn't a ton of wiggle room left in the input sensitivity.

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

That would be my Strandberg Boden Prog with a Suhr SSH+ in the bridge, which is almost double the rated output of the 58/15 LT. It doesn't trigger the warning nearly as much as the PRS. I think it's a product of certain frequencies and the attack that push it into the clipping warning. The 58/15...

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

Not super close. It’s the bridge 58/15 LT in my McCarty. I can’t go above 5% without the clipping indicator, and even then it’ll show up if I smack the strings with palm mutes. I don’t mind the indicator, I’d just rather it not cover the mini tuner. There’s plenty of room right next to it...
