Can Someone Tell me One Good Reason

A quick update; As suspected, utilizing Thunderbolt to connect the Apogee Symphony to the Mac and changing the clock source to AES/SPDIF. As soon as the unit was connected via Thunderbolt and the clocking changed, the digital pops and clicks disappeared. Haven't worked on re-amping yet...

    Recommended Firmware Update: 11.03

After installing 11.o I was a bit disappointed with how the patches sounded. Soooo, since I was in the studio for two weeks recording acoustic I figured it could wait. Then, I got home and low and behold 11.3 magically appeared. Loaded it up and BAM, the Axe FX II sounds absolutely incredible...

    Get Yer 11.0 Beta Here!

I am hearing the FW 11.0 includes a emulation called "KPA Mode". Basically, the unit freezes up when in Performance mode. Can anyone confirm? (Sorry, that was bad).

Can Someone Tell me One Good Reason

Unfortunately, Apogee Symphony does not allow itself to be clocked eternally in USB Mode. I believe one option for doing this is in Audio Interface Mode using Thunderbolt. Need to check into it a bit more. But with USB, can't do it. :(

That would be a great feature.

Can Someone Tell me One Good Reason

Starting with the Output from the Fractal Axe FX II 1. Symphony I/O is set to 48 kHz Sample Rate. 2. Axe FX II input source is set to Input 1 - Guitar plugged into front Inst. jack. 3. SPiDF/AES Source set to AES Axe FX AES signal being fed to Symphony I/O AES 1/2 and routed to Output 1/2...

Can Someone Tell me One Good Reason

Why the Axe FX II can't be set to slave off of a master clock? All I ask, is one "good" reason.... :) In my studio, I have an Apogee Symphony 8x8 I/O. The Symphony's internal clock is said to be equivalent to the Apogee Big Ben, a great clock, but can not be set up to slave off of the Axe Fx...

Ready to Pull Trigger, need advice.....

One of the best sounding "smallish"m monitors I have used are the Focal CMS 50 0r CMS 65's. IMO, they are spectacular for their size. A bit pricy, but worth the money for a small home studio.

    FW10.11b and 10.12

I find FW 11b to be very stable. Only problem I had was with the MacOS driver v1.28. 11b sounds better than anything I have heard from the Axe FX II earlier versions or any other manufacturers product currently available.

    FW 11b is MAGIC

Or at least a retina display instead of that 1990 whatever it is LCD panel. Let's move into the present. :)

    High end audio interface

In my studio, I am running an Apogee Symphony I/O 8x8 an A Designs Pacifica pre. The converters and sound are amazing. In the past I used lower end interfaces and the difference once I got the Symphony was night and day.

Axe FX FW 11b vs Kemper Profiler

Got to compare my Axe FX w/ FW 11b against Kemper Profiler this afternoon. We were playing fairly clean with a bit of gritty country stuff/ Axe FX II FW 11B sounded far better. FW 11b is rocking my world right now. My buddy left practice dejected muttering something about placing an order...
