Watered down sound on all high gain presets

I always get a moment of panic when I update my firmware. The reason why is because often it resets a lot of things back to their original settings. I used to ALWAYS have Power Amp saturation set to Auth, and change a few things like dynamic depth\presence to get things to sound right again...

    Dialling in Mark V

Yeah, this needs more love. I would've never dreamed of doing such a harsh GEQ but holy crap does it work. The Mark IV sounds brilliant and this is a solid gold starting point. Load up your favourite cabs and give it a bash.

SansAmp or Demeter VTB or similar?

A Sansamp goes for what? 150 bucks? Just grab one.

    Dialling in Mark V

    That's pretty damn beefy.

    Suddenly low recording volume?

...I'm not saying that I did. But I may have forgotten that I lowered the output volume on the front panel of the AFX.

    Suddenly low recording volume?

Wait! Fixed it. It was user error. Carry on with your day :)

    Suddenly low recording volume?

Hey all. Had a weird issue happen tonight. I record my AFX via reamping through my interface. So my 2 signal chains are: Recording DI: Guitar -> UA610 Solo -> RME UCX -> Pro Tools Then: Recording AFX: RME UCX Output -> Radial Reamp Box -> AFX -> RME UCX -> Pro Tools It's worked like a treat...

Oh and you also need more mids.

    Axe Fx N00b pointers

No seriously. You don't need that much gain.

    This tone from "The Wall"

From that website (which is usually damn reputable) "Another Brick in the Wall 1 studio Stratocaster, bridge pickup – rhythm/lead (3 tracks); clean signal into mixing desk with delay (long feedback)" Well I'll be damned. I thought the clean tones on that was the bridge of a Goldtop.

    This tone from "The Wall"

Alright. This clean tone? This is my dream clean tone. I grew up listening to this album and I cannot emphasise it's significance to me. This clean tone? To me is the perfect clean guitar sound. I'm trying to tone match it. I'm not getting close so I'm asking for help. I can't find an...

Expression pedals, I thought I thought of everything

I haven't had time to experiment with this yet BUT: I've got 2 expression pedals. 1 on my midi board and I was recently gifted an AFX expression pedal. I'm going to use the AFX pedal for wah, but the one on my board I have some ideas with. I'd like that pedal to control: - Phaser speed when...

Fractal Needs To Improve Their Manufacturing (long)

First thing's first. The Axe-FX is an amazing product. The firmwire updates are fantastic and the unit sounds brilliant. I absolutely love mine and am almost definitely going to be one of those people who sell my amps\pedals because the AFX is so brilliant. But holy cow, whoever is in charge of...

What amps have pleasantly surprised you and what amps have been a let down?

I'd like to give a simple answer....:P Basically, what I found works best is you get a muddy cab that really supports the big boomy bottom end of the Bogner. Something that sounds good, but way too much mud. Then I pair it up with something that's completely opposite. Kinda screechy. I balance...

I actually adore the Uberschall model. It WAS a right royal bitch to find the right cabinet for it though.
