    Pickups…

I've been quite happy with the tapped sound of Tom Anderson humbuckers, they don't sound too thin (although at times the full HB can get almost too thick). But I've been satisfied with them in my custom made PRS style (semi hollow) single cut guitar. I don't remember exactly which pickups they...

    Fearless Flyers

There's a list of his guitars in his webpages, these are the baritones: PRS SE 277 baritone, 2021 Danelectro '56 reissue baritone, 2015 Hybrid Guitars “Big 6” Jazzmaster, 2020 Supro Hampton baritone, 2017 Bruno Bacci Leonardo baritone, 2018 F Bass Hammertone 12-string mandolin/guitar hybrid...

Just great, so tight... What is that (I suppose) baritone PRS Lettieri is playing? Or is it a Fiore?

    Unique guitars

Oh, I meant the modeled guitar sounds (as in GP-10 or SY-1000), not midi triggered sounds on GR units. The way Gittler pickups are made is very different than a GK pickup and (I think) the part of the string they "hear" is quite far from the bridge (as compared to a well installed GK pickup)...

    Unique guitars

Here are some interesting ones you might not know about: https://www.devilandsons.guitars/ http://www.brianeastwoodguitars.co.uk/bender.html http://www.gusguitars.com/product.php?model_id=16 I have all of these (a D&S "End of the road", Bender Distortocaster and Gus G1). The Gittler guitar...

    Acoustic Guitar Pickups

I've always hated the sound of piezos. I've also tried LR Baggs Lyric, which sounds better, but still need lots of EQ, and I've had issues with feedback. KK Pure mini is decent but require a lot of EQ also as is (but the note attack is more natural than with piezo). I've also had different...

    New song from Trevor Rabin

Nice one. The slide solo was my favourite part, something unexpected.

    D.I.Y. Amplifier - A 200W Class D module amp build for $250 total

In 2020 (covid) I decided to build a bass power amp with 1200AS1 module, as I found out it's used by a respected digital based (at the time) bass amp manufacturer. I figured I could do the preamp stuff with Fractal. Worked out great. Works for the guitar also, but got to be careful with the power.

Your best electric guitars, do they sound great acoustically?

I think you'll get a fairly good idea of how an electric guitar will sound amplified just playing it acoustically. I tend to like the ones that resonate well, are balanced sounding and the attack is right (a very important thing). If the guitar has decent pickups, the sound will come through...

Wish Color change option for FC hold

+1. I don’t know how the LED rings are wired, but it would be great to be able to select different colours to the upper and lower LEDs of the ring. Perhaps in next generation FCs?

Anyone still using Dunlop Ultex 1.0mm yellow picks?

Same here. The BlueChip seems not to wear at all, has a nice sound and has some weight to it. Nice grip also. But it is expensive.

As usual, I strayed from the beaten paths

Nice! I've been interested in these for a while. Doesn't look that big under the Axe III, I somehow thought it was much bigger. I could easily live with that, and it works as a nice stand for the Axe, too. I am sure it does wonders to stereo sounds. But how do you think it works with...

    Barefaced cab IRs

Hi, glad you like it, @mistermikev! The Barefaced cab really shines with clean sounds in the room. As an IR it just sounds like a regular cab, I think.

    Barefaced Cabs...These look interesting...

Hi, I did some IR's of my new Barefaced cab, check them out here: https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/barefaced-cab-irs.155113/ The cab sounds really good, I like it a lot. And it is surprisingly light even with a normal (non-neo) speaker. Of course, the IR's are not going to demonstrate...
