Device was a "terminal" failure. Fractal offered a factory-refurb FX8MkII as a replacement for a good market price.

I have been a FX8 (original device, upgraded firmware) user since 2016. Using a 4-cable setup with my Fuchs ODS-II very successfully since then. (Using two Humbuster cables for send to amp in, and back to amp effects loop return.) In recent months (not sure exactly when the change occurred)...

Yes. TRS ends at FX8, TS at amp side. I have used regular TS-TS (originally), and just retried to compare. The humbuster approach is much better, so it is clear that that is working within its means.

Thanks. I am hoping to find some fix(es) to get the noise-level as low as possible. Not sure why there should be any noise at all if it is truly a ground-loop situation, they are usually fixable.

Seems the Summer 2016 people had a quicker turnaround. I joined the wait-list 2/23/16 and just received my invitation on 9/27/16. FX8 MarkII now in hand as of 10/3/16. (I am guessing the change from the original FX8 to the Mark II contributed greatly to this extended wait time.)

Relay state change lag time

Thanks Joe Rogers. I assigned the F2 (default = Looper) to X/Y mode so at least I can X/Y toggle with one extra stomp---a decent work-around for now.
