Used my FM9 live at a sizable gig

I've never flown to a gig. Would it make sense (with enough lead time) to have the gear shipped to the location separately via FedEx or something before hand? Maybe it would be handled with more care? I have no idea, just thinking out loud.

Going wireless worth the switch?

Well, count me in also as a wireless user! I always use the wireless irregardless of stage size. In fact, smaller stages are better for wireless because with limited room comes even more chance of tangling with the cable. I still use an older Shure unit (PGX??) but I'd like to upgrade at...

Changing patches via midi w/ableton

I used to do this same thing when I played in a Rammstein cover band. We used Ableton Live and I sent scene changes to my AxeFX. I also had a button setup on my MFC to start the next songs in the list. But, as you mentioned, I only changed scenes. I'm not 100% sure how to change patches but...

Axe Fx II XL Plus + Matrix + Cab Orange Ppc410

Scene levels

I run into this now and again as well. In my case, it is almost always my delay effects. When they are in-line, their outputs can boost the signal levels quite a bit. I've gotten into the habit of trying to always placing the delay effects in parallel and this has fixed my issues.

Honestly.....you have to start somewhere so just start at Preset 1 and over-write it. Don't look back after that. It's not like your losing out on anything. Start by finding the raw amp tone you like and save it to preset 1. Name it "David Main" or something like that. Now, just work from...

How do you boost signal for solos?

Being the single guitarist in my band, I do not need a great deal of boost. Long before I had an AxeFX, I always used the old standby Boss GE7 eq pedal as my go to solo boost device. Now that I have the AxeFX, I still feel that an eq setup for the boost is still (for me) the best choice. Like...

Anyone find they don’t “need” drive blocks in most cases since getting the AxeII?

I've never used a distortion/overdrive pedal ever for any live rig. I have used them in the studio to change up some tones a bit.

Using Different Guitars With Different Output

I just set my AxeFX up using the loudest guitar I owned and ensured the AxeFX did not clip with that guitar. Then just left that setting in place for all of the other guitars.
