    Tone Match plug in

To set the Axe's gain for a tone match: Plug your guitar into your amp and dial in the amp. While playing turn the guitar's volume down until the amp cleans up. Plug into the Axe, set the gain and tone similar to your amp, then play while turning the guitar's volume down until the Axe starts...

    Tone Match plug in

Kemper's patent is on the automated process, not on matching. Kemper's patent abstract describes the process as: Sending a test signal into a device, measuring the output of the device and automatically setting parameters; the Kemper automatically selects the underlying model and sets it's...

Best programming lang for writing digital fx

Start with simple plug-ins. Plug-ins are a really good place to start as you 1) Already have a Mac or PC, 2) get to produce something you can use while you learn, 3) the development environments are fairly stable, 4) the development environments have great debugging tools, 5) there's lots of...

Question for Axe FX II Mesa Boogie Mark series amps

IIRC the IIC+ were based on a IIC+ but people who've only heard the MK V's IIC+ mode complained that it 'wasn't accurate' so the power amp modeling was changed to be more like the Mark V's Simul-Class power section.

Do any of you still buy pedals?

Recently picked up an Origin Cali76-TX Limiting Amp (compressor) that is amazing, the basic Cali76 is great but the transformer versions add a really sweet quality that warms and livens up your tone (even with the compressor bypassed the transformer still sweetens your tone). The Mesa Flux Five...

    Good reactive load?

The Unleash looks like a nice versatile device. I've read it uses a Bang & Olufson IcePower module which makes it very tempting Regarding Pete Thorn: I thought I saw in one of his posts/videos that he likes the Rockcrusher. I wouldn't be surprised to see Suhr & Jim Kelley come out with...

5 Months and counting.... just another two added!

Not sure what a DAW could add that is not in the AXE, but regarding headphones. - the best thing you can do is adjust your expectations. They are headphones and not a cranked amp, or FRFR, in the room. Enjoy what you get with headphones and enjoy getting great tone and feel without disturbing...

    Vai Says...

Fans just interrupt the music with their cheering. That's why I focus on playing 'music' nobody wants to hear - no interruptions, no distractions.

Your favorite amps with Es 335?

I like the Doubleverb for cleans, USA Lead for high gain (with Mid around 1 and 5 band EQ not as scooped in the middle band as the metal guys use), and the ODS models for tones in between.

    Variable-Q EQ info

In the Filter block you can attach a modifier to Gain. Using an envelope modifier will make the filter's gain dynamic and triggered by your playing (like an Envelope Filter pedal but you get to pick & configure the filter). If you watch the display on the Axe, not in Axe Edit, you can see the...

Syncing lighting and effect automation with Axefx2?

Google MIDI Light Control or MIDI To DMX for controlling the lights, You could also use Logic to send MIDI to control the Axe and eliminate the need for a midi foot controller. Send a click track to your drummer and you're set (hopefully nobody goes into jam mode!)
