    FM9 Firmware Version 4.01

    1. Oh sweet. Lotsa cool stuff but super happy to get the larger font display! 2. I'm in with the birthday crew for this gift, albeit today is now four days after my own. 3. I wish the Majesty did not have an active preamp. It sounds great, but I'm not a fan of needing batteries on my guitar.

    Music Man Majesty... weird thing

Same here. I do, usually swapping between a PRS CU24 with HFS in the bridge and stock Majesty 7 with the DiMarzio Illuminator. The differences in tone when changing guitars using my FM9 seem comparable to changing guitars using a real amp, like my BE-100. Although, I'm sure your ears are...

Cliff, I am in love with the Axe3, and Austin Buddy is the best!

Says the guy with a full Marshall stack in his avatar. Some analog gear just looks cool. ;)

Do I even need an interface?

Using the FM9 as an audio interface was the nice thing about switching from the AX8 to the FM9. Especially because one system I play on previously only had an HX Stomp as the interface and I used another system with an audio interface with XLR inputs for vocals in another room. (It took me a...

    AX8 to FM9 transition

AX8 to FM9 user here too. Nothing constructive to add to the conversation but: That sounds like a great variety. Ever have requests to play Elvis and Iron Maiden on the same night? Which particular songs? ;)

Sounds great. Always enjoy your mixes.

    Noisy Hammer Active 4x12 cab

Interesting. How did they make a 4x12 with flat response? I don't see any specs. Personally, if I am going to make the effort to lug around a 4x12, I am going to bring an actual 4x12 guitar cab and get the 4x12 sound I enjoy, not the sound of an IR through a 4x12.

AFIII Recto Red 1 & Gibson LP = Killer Tone

Tight crunchy tones. Recorded/mixed well and tight playing. Good stuff.

AFIII John 5 - Sugarfoot Rag

Familiar with a lot of John 5/Lowery. Not familiar with this song, but was impressed before even watching the video that someone was covering any John 5. Thoroughly more impressed after watching/listening. I caught my jaw dropping. In other words: 🤯

AFIII 2nd Almost Learned VH Song - Drop Dead Legs

Cool. Love the whole 1984 album. Nice job matching Eddie's style.

EDIT: User Error: FM9-Edit changing amp models in scenes when editing, saving, and switching presets

Actually, that could have been my inadvertent mistake, but instead of thinking about channels, I WASN'T thinking with respect to channels and accidentally switched the channels when switching presets, and then re-tweaked it thinking it was the desired channel.

EDIT: User Error: FM9-Edit changing amp models in scenes when editing, saving, and switching presets

Thanks for the tip. I am already using different channels in different scenes, so that is likely not the issue. Still, it was good to point out something that might be obvious, but still caused the error. Kind of like when you call tech support when something isn't working and they first ask...

EDIT: User Error: FM9-Edit changing amp models in scenes when editing, saving, and switching presets

Thanks. Yeah, I know there are better ways of doing it. I was originally going to use two instances of an amp block, but using different channels would likely be more efficient. Thanks for the tip. Now, the question is: once I find one I like with all the settings I like, how do I copy that...

EDIT: User Error: FM9-Edit changing amp models in scenes when editing, saving, and switching presets

I might be making mistakes, but this seems to have happened a couple of times. Definitely NOT the best way of doing this, but I was comparing amp models in the same scene in two copies of the same preset: 1. Select different, but similar amp models in same scene in different presets, e.g...

How do you maintain the amp settings to easily/quickly audition different variations of a particular amp model.

Thanks for the effort. If it works, it can be useful for all FM9 owners, and possibly Axe-Fx III owners who want to do everything in Axe-Edit without using FracTool. And yeah. I've seen that helpful vid by @2112 and have used the looper technique to compare cabs. It will indeed be useful for...
