    Potential FM3 purchase

Not really my case so I never made the numbers myself but... if more switches (FC6) are a must, I'd be also checking the FM9 as pricewise they might be similar options. Pros: more processing power, all-in-one package. Cons: availability (potentially long waitlist), less modularity, slightly...

[Solved] No USB Audio. Tried 2 Macs and a Windows 10 laptop.

I am having now the very same issue. Did you solve this just by re-installing drivers?

Scene changes - amp channels and audio gaps?

This. You actually offer the Axe FX which is capable of this, so the option is on the table for those who absolutelly need it. It was like this in the analog age, and it is still today in the digital age: for perfect seamless switching, you need to pay for 2x the power. 50% of that power will...

Scene changes - amp channels and audio gaps?

Doesn't matter. Amp sim runs in a different core not shown in the CPU meter. Wild guess, but chances are that CPU usage of an additional amp block running in the FX core would spend far more than 50% of the CPU.

Scene changes - amp channels and audio gaps?

Experienced in terms of time... maybe (Ultra user since 2010), but in terms of knowledge I would say just "average" compared to most of the gurus here. I do not have any preset at hand right now to share, but basically it all comes down to using two instances in parallel of...

Scene changes - amp channels and audio gaps?

Being the only guitarrist in my band I normally cannot afford any gap when switching. Therefore, a good part of preset design time goes into routing for seamless scene switching. That being said, I am totally surprised to read this: I never had any problem designing seamless switching scenes...

Tip of the hat to FracTool

Solved! It is called "Bright". Thanks!

Tip of the hat to FracTool

Amp resetter is definitelly god sent. Thanks AI! Just a question: I'm unable to find "High Treble" in the list of parameters to keep untouched. I vaguely remember this parameter could have had another name in the past but I'm not sure. Is it there, somewhere?

[Solved] Do I even need an Axe-FX?

Immediatelly reminded of this commercial: 100% transferable to the case in point indeed. XD

    Axe-Fx overriding tone characteristics?

This is another story. How far the actual modelling in the Axe is from the real amps in "mathematical" terms is only known to fractal (although the post I mentioned about intermodulation products presented some pretty interesting evidence). I personally am 100% satisfied with the status of...

    Axe-Fx overriding tone characteristics?

Brilliant. So clearly explained. A must-see for anyone with the slightest interest in audio recording

    Axe-Fx overriding tone characteristics?

This point is still completelly false. The sampling theorem shows that the reconstructed signal in the loudspeaker is 100% identical to the original not only in the sampled points, but for every t That's the beauty of sampling, yet people still pictures incorrectly the stair shaped signal in...

    Axe-Fx overriding tone characteristics?

I think this was not the case in this particular discussion. I said that I do not have a clue if guitar differences are smaller through the Axe Fx. The point was that, in the case there are differences, I don't think they are related to digital-analog conversion. Personal experience can never...

    Axe-Fx overriding tone characteristics?

Wow, seriously? Don't you normally fill the highs of your mixes with a didgeridoo? 😅 Thanks for the correction! Edited.

    Axe-Fx overriding tone characteristics?

Absolutelly not. I stand 100% behind my point. The way you're chosing your words seem to imply that there is some "magical" feature in the "analog world" that cannot be replicated in the digital domain. I don't know if this is your case, but when thinking about sampling, many people picture...
