One expensive guitar or several inexpensive ones?

From a bedroom player perspective, it doesn't really matters, some prefer having one workshorse, some need to buy a guitar regularly and get motivated... From a gigging and recording musician perspective, I decided early on to get an expensive guitar, I even sacrificed effects and amp for that...

Music Man Majesty... weird thing

I have a telecaster, an emg equipped Jackson and the 3 different jp models and they all work great with the axefx :) Sometimes I lower input gain in the amp block to manage the amp's headroom.

EBMM Majesty owners/ guitar tech

Honestly I think there is something with the nut lubing at ebmm, because just the 20th anniversary majesty was complained about everywhere and it was always the nut. I have a 2018 monarchy and it's stableAF

Je n'ai que l'axefx2 mais peut être peux tu essayer l'input 1 arrière au lieu de celle de devant pour voir si tu as une différence déjà. Il faudrait que tu compares tous les réglages globaux, l'input et sa gate intégrée, si dans son fonctionnement l'ax8 restitue bien tous les éléments de ton...

How much would you pay for a EBMM Majesty Artisan with a headstock repair?

Depending if the repair is flawless, and since I'm in the EU I may be a little off, but I would put it at 1800-1900$ opened to negociation. It begins to get rare and I prefer to always have a margin for discussion :)

If I want to play at low volume, is it better studio monitors or FRFR speakers?

The hidden question is what is ideal speaker size for bedroom practice... Because between the studio monitors and the powered cab, it's a matter of getting a 5 or 6" speaker vs a 12" (not even speaking about stereo etc). OF COURSE there is a difference in air moved, but are you playing loud...

Tried a JP Majesty for the first time

The neck pickups are more alike than the bridge ones. But yeah, the pickups are voiced for high gain mesa boogie amps, maybe that's why it doesn't sound glorious on amps that have drastically different eqing and stuff.

I loved my two jp6, and regret their finish, but they were so beaten up by previous owner I can't regret technically buying a jp12 in a store and love it since 2013 approximately. Confortwise and quality wise it's just paradise. I have a jp7 which is probably one of the most confortable 7...
