Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

They can't update the factory presets until after the firmware is finalized, otherwise they'd just have to update them again when Cliff makes another tweak. So whether or not they're coming, they won't be coming at least until the Beta is conluded and the final version is released.

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

The shape of the EQ can make things sound more or less saturated. A mid scooped tone usually sounds higher gain than a mid forward tone. Also it can really increase the saturation if anything after the EQ is clipping. The Mark series as you noted (and fender amps and anything else with EQ...

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

This isn't an issue on the FX III because the amp DSP is all handled in a separate core

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

I think Fractal is going to abandon their history of consistently porting new FX III features and algorithsm down to the FM line and instead keep these changes for the FX III only going forward. /s

    Cygnus X-3 For FM3?

"need" is a strong word. Maybe "would like to have". It won't start being ported to FM3 until it leaves the Axe FX III Beta state. I think most would prefer to get the current rounder of FM3 changes sooner and the new amp modelling changes in the next release, but we'll see what happens.

    MarkV power amp only modeling

I forgot you fancy Axe FX III users have two AMP blocks, this makes perfect sense now.

    MarkV power amp only modeling

That would still leave one of the two paths either without power amp coloration, or the other with double the power amp coloration. IF you use the AMP block with power amp modelling on, then the Axe dry path would be normal but the amp power amp would add a second set of tube power amp coloring...

    MarkV power amp only modeling

I actually suggested that just a couple posts up. @sprint is right that it still contibutes something, but it's also relatively mild on a high gain amp like the Mark series where they tend to sound best with a clean power amp instead of a pushed one. Plus the el84 based power section in the 25...

    MarkV power amp only modeling

Restating your original question then, you're looking for which amp models work best for modelling a power amp when fed with a high gain preamp signal. Off the top of my head I'm not sure, but that should be something you can search for some threads on. Normally for high gain poweramps run...

    MarkV power amp only modeling

That does help clarify some things. Regarding the amp model in question, it's hard to say. The Clean channel may have some inherent EQ and voicing which is skewing things more than the lead channel does. And in that case, Are you using the L and R of all 4 (3.5?) inputs? If not, perhaps you...

    Best of all worlds

Add a KHE Amp switcher into the mix and hook it up so the AXE controls the KHE channel with Midi signals and reach your true nirvana.

FM3 Turbo - gaps between scenes

Fixed is a weird word for this. The FM9's latest firmware did includ the gapfilling functionality called "gapless switching" which Cliff added to the FX III a little bit ago. The FM3 update is still in progress. Despite everyone thinking the gapless part is the part that's taking a while to...

SLO. Anybody digging this model? Am I missing the point?

The implication being a well regarded metal amp can't sound good? ;)

    MarkV power amp only modeling

There are several ways to do this, and I'm going to list them in increasing complexity: Abandon the real amp. Abandon true W/D/W. Use a Stero L and R powered speaker, where you output the dry amp signal panned center, and L/R affects signals panned respectively. You only have 2 real speakers...
