Another Gapless Switching Thread... Solved! (Post #136)

Hey fractalz, did you find Fractal presets to match the Mk V? I especially like Mk V clean sounds - distinctively Mesa Boogie. But sorry to hear you had channel switching problems. For me it was a straight-forward question of weight!

If a Helix or whatever does what you need use it! Personally, I don't use the FM9 as an effects unit, but two separate things: amps and speakers, and effects. This probably because I'm a long-time Fractal user: FX2 onwards, but previously used to humping 4x12's, valve heads and AC30s. I...

    PRS HBII Elec/Piezo Presets

No! I'm writing patches for a Fender Acoustatronic - one mono output. So how to use both its magnetic and its piezo/mic outpt in one patch? My answer is a standard guitar lead into the Lehle and two very short standard pedal board leads to Inputs 1 and 2.

    PRS HBII Elec/Piezo Presets

The P-Split splits 1 into 2. So you have one guitar lead going into both inputs 1 and 2. My patch has both, so Scenes for magnetic have Input 2 bypassed, and vice versa.

    PRS HBII Elec/Piezo Presets

Hi Bluejazz. Thanks for the presets. Regarding two cables for Inputs one and two, a Lehle P-Split gives you one guitar cable into both inputs. If you use Presets, you can bypass the unwanted input as the inputs do work best when electric goes to one and acoustic/piezo into 2. I'm using a...

    Fender Jazzmaster Acoustasonic

I have the Jazzmaster, used for loud acoustic gigs where my Taylor or J-45 would feedback. Massive variety of acoustic sounds though the IRs. But it also switches to authentic humbucker electric. FM9 use is more for with the humbucker; keeping cab and amps off for the acoustic scenes as the...

Best way to protect the fm9

Hi Sukh ( @ZenRigs Man ), All well this end. Great to see you with G66 - both of you are excellent ; good company! Attached pic of my home-made rubbish plastic cover as mentioned. RUbbish pic too; the light doesn't actually reflect back as badly as in the pic. It's just flat and wide enough to...

Best way to protect the fm9

Hi Sukh, Remembering you from back with your excellent MFC labels! I made a plastic cover for my FM9 using scissors to cut medium thickness plastic sheeting which is oversized so it goes over the front, rear and to the sides. It works, but isn't great as I didn't have the correct radius hole...

OK, so they might hear it. But not so it's like a problem for them. Maybe it's a problem for you; but you're a guitarist. Me, I don't mind. As I said, gaps such as when high gain comes in, can add to the live gig excitement. But some bands strive for live perfection like it's a recording, so...

Another Gapless Switching Thread... Solved! (Post #136)

I suspect someone's already said this and I overlooked it, but in a band mix, the "gaps" when you kick in the overdrive etc for your solo on a pedal board - or change channel with some real amps, isn't noticeable by the audience. Some tap dancing can even be part of the excitement - as with the...

    Best add-ons for your FM9?

Heavy duty 0.75mm plastic cover: Just received my FM9, so it's still got the protectors over the displays. After many years of FX2 safe in the rack and a bullet-proof MFC 101, the idea of a pint of beer all over it didn't appeal. I thought about buying an acrylic display cover, but didn't...

    FM9 SET LIST / SONGS

I've always built a preset - for a song, or for a band or a gig set. However with Set Lists function allowing changing actual presets within a song, are there slight audio bumps/glitches as the presets change? I'm awaiting FM9 delivery (graduating from Ax FX2), and planning auditioning...
