Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 19.01

Man, I haven't played in a while and just upgraded to 19.01 from 16 and am really blown away by how good the Plexi amps sound and feel! So easy to get a killer tone. Palm mutes, high end present but not harsh, chord clarity, distortion complexity, it's all just right. I love this unit. Great...

Van Halen - Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love

Sounds great Mark. Would you mind sharing the preset? I have the same guitar and would like to take this preset for a ride.

Axe-Fx III 16.00 Beta 4 "Cygnus" Firmware - Public Beta

Leon, that 1st clip with the USA Lead mid gain model and your IR is one of the best sounding lead tones I've ever heard, incredible. When you have some spare time if you could share that preset/IR it would really be awesome and greatly appreciated, would love to play with that on my PRS. This...

Cygnus 50W Plexi VS Real 50W Plexi

I like the first clip better to my ears, a little more organic and rich. I really hope it is the Axe.

My latest obsession as been the Friedman models, so updating this weekend will be a real treat. Stoked!

    Friedman cab?

+1 on the York FDMN pack. I got it last week and it is really good. I'm not big on purchasing IR packs, but this one is really worth it.

Some Axe-Fx tones I created this year

Happy New Year Mark, really enjoyed the presets, keep 'em coming in the new year.

I might need my head examined. Just ordered an Axe-Fx III Mk II

I was on the fence about it, but I pulled the trigger and got the MKII and now that I have it I really like the differences to the III. The display is much better and I really like the extra preset space. I could have easily lived with III as is, but I figured now is the time to upgrade as the...

How accurate is Fractal's amp modeling?

The 15.xx firmware added a noticeable dynamic feel to the Marshalls, which are really all I've been playing with lately. You just know it when you play, can't really describe it more than that. It's all about the thump, bloom, note dynamics, how the palm mutes sound through the transient...

    Axe fx vs Kemper

I owned a Kemper and AFX II for years, and agree that they were similar in tone/feel with the Axe having better FX and routing. I now have been on the III for the last year, and can say it blows away the Kemper now IMO. The tone, feel, ease of getting great tones with realistic feel, and much...

Do the Axe-Fx 3 mark 1 and 2 have any differences in tones or more features?

No differences in tone. I've had both and the main differences are the MKII screen is much sharper and there is twice the preset memory, which is significant to me.

Anyone who likes to grill - SHARE your tips , tools and techniques !

All I do is the reverse sear for steaks now. Takes time (though I usually do on Sundays while watching football all day so no big deal), but impossible to screw it up and results are amazing. I do it this way: buy a 1.5 to 2" thick prime steak (ribeye, NY, filet, works on all 3). Salt either...

    Guitar quest continues

I love the locking tuners, so I'd probably put those on the 2020 for sure. I have a 2015 SC 245 and love it, but am always chasing tone. I guess that's a good thing, keep it interesting. I'll probably just have to get it and see if I bond with it, really no other way to know. Thanks.
