Why is it necessary to apply high/lo pass filters to cabs?

It is because of the microphone. Most IRs are “close mic’d,” which means the bass and low mids will be fattened by the proximity effect. On top of that, many are also much more centered or “on-axis” to the speaker cap than you would put your ears with a real cab, which makes high cuts necessary...

    Pure volume Boost pedal?

As someone who also uses a volume pedal, I simply created a Channel B for my volume block and boosted the level on it.

    Germanium boost pedal?

Yes, I am nowadays. For a while, I was plugging in the back and couldn’t get the fuzz to sound good, which is why I bought the Benson. Now the problem is I like the Benson more than the fuzz face using the front input lol.

    Germanium boost pedal?

I have an analog Benson Fuzz that I like. I run the gain at 0, where, according to the manual, it operates more like a clean germanium boost. It fattens/thickens the tone, softens it, and somehow makes it pop a little more at the same time. I want to replicate this in the AxeFx and go all...

Using multiple amps and continuity between tones and frequency?

I would say try running the same mic further from the center for that, but be careful not to overdo it.

Using multiple amps and continuity between tones and frequency?

Another factor to consider is the microphones. For example, going from an SM57 to an R121 is enough of a change to potentially break that continuity. Dynacabs are great for creating some standardization because you can select the mics and control distance and placement.

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

$10k is not bad to have a Dumble to run off to Mexico with.

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

Just took my shiny new Plexi tone to practice and found that my guitar became weak and disappeared when everyone else was playing. I had committed one of the classic blunders: dialing in too much gain at home. I take back what I said about needing more gain.

You can add a bright cap pretty easily. Only tricky part is figuring out the right value for the cap.

Best Way to EQ Ear Piercing Frequency?

I have the open back LCD-2 with fazor, a few years before yours. With the right EQ, they are amazing. Here are the settings I use for mine. Yours would likely need further adjustment being closed back, but this might be a decent starting point.

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

I think that it is worth differentiating between “sounds good” and “sounds like I think it should.” For my handful of tones I had carefully honed and dialed in, I needed to make adjustments.

Best Way to EQ Ear Piercing Frequency?

Which Audeze do you have? I have two of them and both require a lot of EQ, but sound amazing once I got that dialed in. PEQ block on Output 1. Find frequency response graphs or EQ settings that headphone enthusiasts have made for your specific headphones as a starting point. Run some music...

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

Yep. I made separate folders on my desktop to keep them grouped together. Worked fine for having a few amps, but people with more would need something more streamlined.

What I did for this one was I took screenshots before doing the reset.

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

Initial impressions on my main amp, a Plexi 100W Jumped: Settings Definitely requires re-adjusting settings with an open mind because the changes are substantial. Had to turn the gain up quite a bit. I turned the Normal channel up more, relative to the high channel. Normal channel is adding...
