Noise gate doesn't seem to be cutting it

Why not just use the input block gate? Its placement is not be accident…gating should generally be applied before you start amplifying the signal (i.e. before the drive and amp blocks).

Gapless. Interesting. I've gotten so used to working around this limitation by using scenes, both amp blocks and multiple delay blocks that I'm almost like "ho-hum." But, maybe this is a good opportunity to try simplifying my presets...and exploring new ways of doing things.

Fractal Rat pedal vs real Rat Distortion Pedal

To get closer to the tone of my own RAT2 pedal, I switched to the 1N4148 diodes as opposed to whatever the block defaults too.

Pick an Amp model that complements the tone of your guitar. Sometimes it’s not the amp that the cool kids are using (or that you want to work).
