Preview of the MidyAX - A new tool to enhance the AXE-FX experience

Well done, Polygap. I just posted about wanting something like this on the AxeFXII Wish List forum and was directed here where I find that inventive and capable minds have been at work already! I agree that a 1RU interface would be ideal.

Using Cab sims into a guitar cabinet

Thanks for the suggestions. I should add that I audition most of my patches at quite low volume at home. That might be something to do with it, I suppose. Yes, I don't mind breaking convention if it works for my ears. Overall, adding the cab sims is not an improvement - the extra vibrancy...

Using Cab sims into a guitar cabinet

My chain is Gibson SG Classic > Ultra > Mesa 20/20 > Marshall1960A. Or I use an oversize 112 with a Celestion V30 for practice. No studio work for me - it's all live playing. Here's the thing - although I know I should not use a cab sim as I don't have an FRFR set-up, presets sometimes...

    Are we blessed, or what?

Just been noodling with my Ultra. Discovered yet more amazing parameters, functions, options, sounds. Sigh. Thanks, Cliff. 8-)

Anyone using a 1x12 cab, and how does is sound?

I'm using a 1 x 12 oversize cab with a Celestion Vintage 30. I quite like it for low volume, but at band practice I tried a 4x12 Marshall 1960A, which just sounded so much fuller. At those stage volumes, the 112 sounded boxy by comparison. Plenty of people use 112s though, I reckon you can get...

Maybe not. Wasn't sure whether to post here or General, Ultra Zone, or what

Emulating Edge anbd others "scratchy pick"

Re: Emulating Edge and others "scratchy pick" I'm sure you are all correct, the dimply pick is the best way. I use 1.0mm Jim Dunlops. They have a dimpled part as well, not sure how it compares with Herdims. Sometimes the sheer power of the AxeFx makes me think virtually anything is possible...

Boston More than a Feeling rhythm tips or patch?

Excellent. Will try that. I assume that there is absolutely no need for an attenuator sim, as we have the power to simply reduce the level of the amp block. so... Chorus - EQ - Marshall Plexi? Or Chorus after the amp? How would one emulate a stereo chorus doubler? Two in parallel, with a short...

Boston More than a Feeling rhythm tips or patch?

I had over-written that but have now retrieved. I'm finding find that since I play into a tube power amp and a guitar cab, a lot of other people's (and factory) presets need a bit of work. It seems like a starting point at least, though. Thanks for the tip.

Emulating Edge anbd others "scratchy pick"

Like this... http://www.amnesta.net/edge_delay/herdim.html There are a number of artist who use this "scratchy" input to get a particular sound. Can anyone think of a way to emulate this?

Boston More than a Feeling rhythm tips or patch?

Any tips on how to set up a rhythm patch for More than Feeling by Boston? Or even, better does anyone have one they'd like to share? Into and lead would be nice as well, but I may be asking too much!!

anyone has patches from The Cure? (pictures of you, forest )

Re: anyone has patches from The Cure? (pictures of you, fore Snap! I've just ditched an SS power amp and gone back to the Mesa 20/20. Nice, isn't it! And just bought a 1960A a few days ago which I haven't had a chance to try yet.

The Cars keyboard parts on guitar

Thanks Matman. I'm very new to this and would barely know where to start. Your offer to help is greatly appreciated! Keyboard sounds I'm chasing are: Let's Go - Cars Drop the Pilot - Joan Armatrading Don't Change - INXS Run to You - Bryan Adams I hope that with an idea of the basic approach...

The Cars keyboard parts on guitar

I've been wondering about the the same thing, and keyboard parts in general. I'd like to emulate the keyboards in some Cars songs and also Don't Change by INXS. There is a way to emulate the Boss Slow Gear effect mentioned on Axe Wiki, which my help in getting rid of string attack, but as for...

    Boss GT10 as midi controller

You could definitely use an external dual footswtich plugged into the SUB CTL output, which would also give you some other options But it sounds like you want to avoid that. One way would be to use the CTL pedal (or I think you have 2 on the GT-10). These are not very useful for most things...
